this is Mohsen Mahdawi, the green card holder who was just arrested by ICE for rendition at his citizenship interview

important context about the concentration camps in el salvador:

When the law fails to protect our liberty, what recourse do we have?

I recommend this piece by @kjephd.bsky.social. A few weeks ago, I thought, "We are no longer in pre-fascism; we're w/in fascism itself." Since then, I brushed off Paxton, but needed a piece like this to place various principles in context of current events www.liberalcurrents.com/yes-its-fasc...

On April 12, 1861, Confederate forces attacked Fort Sumter, launching the four-year Civil War—a national conflict that would ultimately force the abolition of slavery in the United States. 130 days to Slavery Remembrance Day. #CountdowntoSRD

Explain like I'm five why their decision in Trump v US (2024) doesn't make the SCOTUS majority guilty of treason. Same for Trump for 1/6/2021.

Abolish ICE.

Does anyone else miss sleepy Joe Biden, or is it just me? #fascism #tariffs #habeuscorpus

And just to be obvious, if this isn’t the moment to use every parliamentary procedure possible to hold the legislative branch hostage until the executive branch is brought under control, then there is no point to having a legislature at all

WT actual F. I used the grocery store analogy myself yesterday with a friend. Now Rand Paul (whom I agree with on very, very, very little) is saying the same thing. This is the weirdest timeline.

This is horrifying. And we must all prepare ourselves for this treatment. Not because we will all experience it, but because the illegitimate, fascist Trump regime wants our fear to confine us.

More of this, please.

While this court rightly critiques DOJ for punishing Erez Reuveni, he is still no hero. Like so many former Trump associates, Reuveni fell out of favor. But advocating against our rights and pushing us down the "path to perfect lawlessness," even halfheartedly, is unforgivable.

In an emergency, we don't "rise to the occasion" but, rather, "default to our level of training." It's clear that a lot of leaders in media, business, law, academia, and Congress have spent their lives training to be cowards.

What are you doing to stop this and bring these people back to the US so they can receive due process in a court of law. @schiff.senate.gov @schumer.senate.gov @liccardo.house.gov

A decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that we should declare the causes which impel us to resist President Donald J. Trump: 1. He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us. 2. He has endeavored to cut off our Trade with all parts of the world.

Donald Trump's very presence in the White House is inherently unconstitutional. The 14th Amendment is clear. His so-called presidency is illegitimate. Act accordingly.

Your child is more likely to die from measles than get beat by one of their trans peers in an athletic competition, and I wish our government's actions would reflect that.

New take on Stromae & Pomme's beautiful "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" featuring Coldplay? I'm not mad about it. The video has lots of spoilers for #arcane, so you should probably go watch the show if you haven't. Seriously, it's really good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbLe...

I don't care what Erez Reuveni did before he argued that the regime can abduct people and send them beyond the protection of the law. He should die in prison like every fascist.
