Finally getting around to playing this and loving it. It’s a throwback to the AA licensed games of the PS4/PS3 era, like Rockstar’s “The Warriors”. But its roots are deeper into first gen first person shooters like “Wolfenstein 3D.”

well this made me cry over breakfast. to any democrats holding even a shred of power right now: look at what’s possible from people far more endangered and vulnerable than you and grow a spine, you fucking cowards www.erininthemorning.com/p/powerful-s...

The Edgar Allen Poe quote. The John Houseman ghost story. The town-wide poltergeist activity. Is there a more wonderfully eerie set up than the first ten minutes of John Carpenter’s “The Fog”?

It's the nexus of the crisis And the origin of storms Just the place to hopelessly Encounter time and then came me.

Note to self - you are too old to order pizza and wings to your hotel room after celebrating, with many beers, a friends 50th birthday and NOT suffer serious ill effects.

This would actually be brilliant.

Yakuza/Like a Dragon is my favorite video game franchise and has been for a long time. Here, @charalanahzard.bsky.social absolutely nails what makes these games so unique and wonderful.

Also, Humboldt County is beautiful- just stunning.

If you’re in Eureka, CA and searching for a dive bar that doubles as a pretty solid steak house don’t miss out on this place.

Vacation week two - visiting Eureka/Arcata and the Avenue of the Giants (one of my patented “happy places” - see also Galway, Ireland and Portsmouth, New Hampshire). Enjoying a Cinna Bun Pastry stout at the always tasty Lost Coast Brewery.

Name a film, TV series, album, and video game that you will never tire of? Film - Strange Brew TV Series - The Young Ones Album - “Iron Maiden” by Iron Maiden Video Game - Brutal Legend

Heading home. Made a stop at a brewery in Reedsport, OR (population 4,300) for some samples. Basically got this look from the locals. Noted, gents. Noted.

My flight out of Seattle is delayed by five hours. Sucky? Yes. What sucks even more are the people who yell at the customer service reps about it. It ain’t their fault.

Speaking of Joan Jett - this song is a fucking MONSTER.

If you are in Seattle and like Belgian beer, get your buttocks to the Stumbling Monk post haste.

"Our party must act swiftly. There’s no time for hesitation. Or delay. Or dawdling. Or dragging our feet. Or indecision. Or dilly-dallying. Or stalling. Or hemming and hawing. Or equivocation. Or grandstanding. Or mincing words. Or slow-walking. Or procrastinating."

Your daily reminder that: 1. A heavy rock song lives or dies by the rhythm guitar. 2. Malcom Young was, and always will be, the greatest rhythm guitar player on planet Earth.

Seattle day one was great. Did some sightseeing, met up with an old friend from work, had some incredible Turkish food, and met a super friendly golden retriever (is there any other kind of golden retriever?) at a local brewery.

Visited @pinkgorillagames.com and was not disappointed. Picked up a copy of “Brutal Legend”. I own the digital version, but a metal masterpiece such as this deserves a spot in my physical games collection.

Elephant and Castle - the U.S.’s version of Wetherspoon’s. But hey - it’s 32 degrees outside and I’m not gonna say no to a steak and mushroom pie washed down with a pint of Fuller’s Pride.

When in Florence, OR you gotta pay respects to the exploded whale. If that means drinking a beer in their honor, so be it.

One of the most wrongfully derided movies in the Hammer Dracula franchise. Goofy? Oh, god yes. But it’s also fun, breezy, and never dull. Don’t listen to the haters - Dracula AD 1972 is great.

Alex Lifeson’s greatest solo is also one of his most understated.

Marianne Faithful’s vocal performance was the best thing about this song. RIP.
