Jonathan Horn nails it in his column about Melbourne in the Guardian. Personally, I think it is great that Petracca shows his emotions and how much he cares.

Really enjoyed this history of the handball by @arwon.bsky.social and @capitalcitycody.bsky.social www.abc.net.au/news/2025-04... Also gives me a chance to re-circulate something I did last year on moving the ball from d50 to taking a shot with no kicks in between.

I don't know if I've mentioned this lately but Against the Storm is a really good game.

34 coaches with a full 5+year stint at a team since 2000. 14 have at least top of the ladder finish. Another 12 had at least a top 4 finish. Of the 8 that haven't finished top 4, it's 6x 5 year coaches, plus BScott (9 years @ North) and Bevo (10) Not convinced he is our answer.

iterating on this - size of wedges based on 80th percentile rather than median distance, and individually plots ball position for scoring chains

Fixed port’s statement

this poll post really nailed down the tech industry

TIL afl players wear iron-on numbers not printed on??

Looking at how teams spread from half back through where balls reach +X seconds after intercept Shade = trend - higher share of ball in that wedge Length = speed = balls in that sector went further in the X seconds circles = each 25m from the point of intercept. AFL avg at +5/10/15/20 seconds

It worked so well against Geelong

Gonna be a loooooooong night

Should have parked the bus at 1-0

This is honestly very logical for them 1 - Noone can see that they're british 2/3 - They can leave britain 4 - They can prevent themselves from ever having been british 5 - They can cure themselves of britishness

Ned Long is averaging just 15.7 metres gained per disposal this year, while Jayden Short is averaging 20.5. Figure that one out einstein.

Tonight Darcy Cameron and Tim Membrey both play against a club they played exactly 1 game for. The last time two teammates did this in the same match was Les Abbott and Bob Bowden for Richmond against Collingwood in Round 1, 1911.

Adelaide has turned it on for the first ever women’s fixture at Gather Round. Free entry at Alberton Oval if you’re in town, all kicks off at 6:30pm SA time ✌🏼 #AFLW

using an ungodly amount of resources and spending fuck knows how many developer hours, we managed to badly and non-functionally approximate a thing made 30 years ago by a handful of people which can probably run better in a pdf. success!

Geelong and Adelaide with 27 and 26 chains resulting in shots, 18 and 19 coming from intercepts respectively and no kick ins. Of the stoppages, Geelong launched 5 shots from centre bounce chains, compared to Adelaide's 2. Geelong starting their shot chains from a median of 9 metres closer to goal

rough league averages Stoppage scores: ~48% front half stoppages ~35% centre bounce ~18% def half stoppages Def half scores: ~70% intercept ~18% stoppage ~12% kick in

“Robbed” fox footy gone full nuff 😂

Hello, I like to use #Rstats to make silly things. 😎 Here is a what Australia would look like as a geographically accurate Catan board. Made using satellite land use data and R. 🌏🧵

Rare L for Betteridge’s law

*looks up “Tom Rockliff concussion history”*

New episode live.... yesterday. Was flat out and didn't have time to post about it, but it is out now! We've chat when we will know if the Suns are actually good, what's going wrong at Melbourne, and goddamnit Geelong have found another one, haven't they? Links below 👇

I'm here to make spreadsheet and support a competent footy team, and - (video courtesy of @capitalcitycody.bsky.social )

It’s extremely funny (re stupid) that the AEC spend more time investigating Abbie Chatfield than they do the Australian, the Hun, or Sky News

www.hpnfooty.com/thisweekinfo... NO COLLUSION - three of us just happened to wake up in a "freo are a bit slow hey" mood, as if possessed by David King himself. Great to contribute alongside @capitalcitycody.bsky.social @arwon.bsky.social @ryanbuckland.bsky.social @jasperchellappah.bsky.social

4 nights of footy a week and a billion different shows to watch would have been rad circa 2021. Now, not so much.

Was doing a paddle steamer tour in Echuca with the fam. The captain said (repeatedly) to sit down while coming into moor so you don’t fall over. American tourist didn’t listen, fell over, crashed into me, and now I’ve got a sore leg. I feel like there’s some symbolism somewhere in that 🤷‍♂️

Thanks. I hate it.
