Why John Swinney needs to take business complaints about England-Scotland income tax gap seriously. No he doesn’t. The CBI is dominated by UK wide firms who have never supported devolution. There is no evidence that different tax levels damage the economy. www.scotsman.com/news/opinion...

The only choice left for Scotland is guaranteed impoverishment under a right wing pro-Brexit Labour party, far right English nationalist authoritarianism & destruction of the public sector under Reform/Tories or independence and rejoining the EU. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Here's the age breakdown of Scottish Parliament regional voting intention from the Survation poll. The SNP has a clear age gradient in support but leads across all groups aside from 25 to 34. Strongest support for Reform UK among the under 25s (Parents talk to your kids!). #SP2026

What does the Survation poll tell us about who's planning to vote Reform UK? If we look at their votes at the 2024 election, a third were already RUK voters, a quarter voted for fellow right-wingers UK Labour, and a further one in six voted for Labour's right-wing fellow-travellers; the Tories.

Does anyone know if the Trades Description Act covers political parties? If it does, I think some working people might be thinking about a class action against 'the Labour party'. #YouYesYet

Here’s one for all the ‘Nobody in Scotland would vote for Reform UK’ brigade! 19% in a former mining area of West Lothian. That’s around what they’re currently polling Scotland-wide. Good win for the SNP though.

Haven't been keeping full track of these yet (intended for Holyrood Hub section of website launching at one year to go!) but I would say Liz Smith standing down is a huge loss for the Conservative MSP group - always gives a sense of serious and careful scrutiny in chamber news.stv.tv/politics/con...

Not seeing any public acknowledgement of this but he's no longer listed on the West Dunbartonshire Council website: SNP councillor for Clydebank Waterfront James McElhill has resigned, so a by-election incoming. That'll give us a complete set of Clydebank ward by-elections over the past year!

This is an important initiative that has my full support. Please help if you can 👇

With the 2026 election in mind SNP supporters mustn't rely on Labour's collapse to gain seats. We must show voters a realistic prospectus for #ScottishIndependence and the many benefits it will offer. Now is the time to gain ground with progressive policies while unionists are in disarray.

Wow.
