Husband just took this of our Tortoiseshell and I said it looks like a profile pic for some kind of cat dating app! Happy #Caturday!

Did you say #MothFaceFriday --? I'm in! #TeamMoth #MothsMatter

One way to combat the depressing news is by thinking about all the butterflies that are overwintering in the trees right now. Here is a White Admiral (Limenitis arthemis) that emerged in June 2023 from one of my plum trees. We can't do without lepidoptera either.

Two #PrettyInPink entries: a Red-Spotted Purple and a Variegated Fritillary, both from August 2022

Please, please @petebuttigieg.bsky.social -- you have an unparalleled ability to recite the facts, refute the nonsense, and LEAD at this moment!

Happy Thursday, Bluesky! Here's a Silver-bordered Fritillary to get you through the day. Shot taken last June in St. Croix County, Wisconsin. #butterflies #naturephotography

Dull Celery Looper moth from last June. Lepidoptera are keeping me sane at the moment, even if it's just the memories of them. #TeamMoth #MothsMatter

For #MothMonday and for sanity in general. #TeamMoth

Hands down, the most beautiful butterfly in the world (IMHO) -- the White Admiral

Never been fortunate enough to get a photo of one, but last night I dreamed I encountered a baby owl! Surely that must count for #SuperbOwlSunday?

Much-needed dose of serenity at the end of another calamitous week. American Lady in my garden from September. #naturephotography

You mean like someone saying he's going to "own" Gaza?

@governorwalz.mn.gov was right. About everything.
