in an alternate universe i'm losing my job in public health for the government in another i dodged a bullet by finding another employer or line of work when any/all interventions to reduce the impact/spread of COVID were discontinued

So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

every so often i feel shitty that i lied abt breaking a roommate's mug but it was a deeply fucked up living situation-- another roommate left dirty toothpicks laying around & i had to get antibiotics bc i managed to step on one such that it went deep into my foot, & no one ever did the dishes
