I missed this part

Penshurst hawfinches 3 seen well 4th flew over 3rd attempt.

North Surrey: 26km circular walk from home taking in the Hawfinch hot spots - 110 Mickleham Downs (including dense flock of 90), 7 Tyrell’s Wood, 5 Juniper Bottom, 10 Ashurst Rough. Witnessed male and female in courtship feeding using tree buds (pictured) #LowCarbonBirding #UKBirding

Great 10 min spell in the SE corner of Elney Lake, F Drayton - GC grebes doing the weed dance, then a bittern passed over giving great views; 2 GWE followed, then I noticed a f fudge duck with the tufties! Pres last yr’s bird, it soon came over to the near corner @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

This 2w Yellow-legged Gull put in a brief appearance at Kingsdown this afternoon.

Went to Oare last Sunday and got the Red-necked Grebe. Was very happy to see 2 Male Hen Harriers together as well. Also Barn Owl.

Patching again at Cliffe Pools. Did a WeBS count too. Green Sandpiper, Spotted Redshank and a Male Merlin were the highlights but the best bird was definitely a White-fronted Goose on the neighbouring marshes. Today was NOT a day for photography 🤦‍♂️.

Took a trip to North Foreland at midday on Wednesday for an hour seawatch while visiting family. 5 Fulmars were my highlight. Close enough to touch! Also just over 20 Red-throated Divers, Razorbill, Kittiwakes, Gannet etc. Some BOC shots and a Digiscoped shot of them.

More pics of yesterday’s RING-BILLED GULL !

An excellent morning at Hayle Estuary yesterday- Adult winter RING-BILLED GULL pictured alongside Common Gull for comparison- note the thicker bill and pale iris and stockier head. Also there adult winter Glaucous Gull.with ⁦‪@a1virginia‬⁩

7 goosander bb res 2drakes displaying ,great to see david tipling yday good catch up ,Penshurst church no sign of the hawfinches, did see what I thought could been one for a second but due to pain of posh dog walker not a decent view was had bizarre they come at you never around you .

has anyone noticed lot of dead badgers on rd verges have they been dug out. ??

2nd garden record of heard only Barn owl. Bexleyheath flew over calling at 7.30pm. clear night again.

Some of the at least 7 Caspian Gulls that flew west past the sea watch hide this afternoon with @dungenessowen.bsky.social we probably missed a few more while staring out to sea. #UKBirding #Kentbirding

"Kent Police received a report that a person with a dog was taking part in suspected poaching at Plum Pudding Island. He was found with three dead hares and a powered telescope.." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

East Sussex: This afternoon 2 Tundra Bean Geese feeding in fields east of the Scotney Sand Pit with Greylags, a Brent Goose and 2 Barnacle Geese, also 7 Bewick Swans there, the Tree Sparrow flock, a Green Sandpiper, c400 Golden Plover, Merlin etc. #Sussexbirding #UKBirding

The Bearded Reedlings have been stars at Elmley this week, feeding within 4 metres of visiting birders. The Shorties are now up to 25 individuals, and 3 Hen Harriers continue to roam the reserve, surprising the lucky few or rewarding those who are willing to wait #kentbirding

5 woodcock braving the shoot. freezing ground conditions at sheldwich .

My usual comment wrong time of year can’t fly over water and worn primaries ! 😱 And you thought November was a bad month for a Booted Eagle!

Two scorpions from Oman, the little one possibly a Deathstalker (one of world’s most venomous sp); the larger one unearthed itself to my alarm after I inadvertently touched its back which was only just breaking the surface under a rock! 😬

Morning all! Anyone got the January blues yet? Back to work yesterday and I am ready for a break 😂 Here’s a beautiful Kingfisher from my local park to brighten up your week 💙 #lovenature #january #winterwalks

Yellow Warbler showing very well this morning in ditch below alders at New Hythe. Ten min walk from home - phew! #RareBirdsUK

A morning spent at Godmersham Park in a foggy and drizzling setting. Had a brief Hawfinch opposite the Old Vicarage. It was good to see at least a dozen Tree Sparrows (now a scarce bird in Kent). A similar no. of Greenfinchs and a drake Mallard x Pintail in the stream. #ukbirding #kentbirding

A mad dash up to New Hythe Lakes on Christmas Eve to see the Rare American Yellow Warbler. Congratulations to Glenn Honey the finder. Made it back in time at the Breakwater to have a Christmas drink with the boys .

It takes something special to get me away from Dungeness, today I made the short trip up the M20 to New Hythe with @dungenessowen.bsky.social to see the Yellow Warbler a brilliant and deserved find by Glen Honey. #UKBirding #Kentbirding #Birds
