Utena fandom be wild asking, "What's your favorite song? The Natural Compatriots' Palace Perspective Book? Utopian Past Tense Incantation? Magic Lantern Butterfly Moth 16th Century? Or everybody's favorite: Allegory, Allegorier, Allegoriest?"

With its cozy vibe, bite-sized levels, and intuitive gameplay (literally, draw a line) you'd think that Cosmic Express would be a chill game. But it is, in fact, evil.

problem found. The rubber backing pad on the buttons has weakened and started to separate, resulting in poor action. Deterioration from use and age. Diagnosis: beyond my skill to fix :(

Getting poor rebound action on my 'A' button Time for a cleaning!

I think next year I'm going to preemptively write-off February for any kind of creative endeavor

This is a real screenshot from Look Back (2024). You might assume this unfinished frame made it into the final movie because of its director Kiyotaka Oshiyama (押山清高) doing HALF the key animation for the film and only fully finishing it A WEEK before it's festival debut. (1/2)

peeps with a hyper bazooka, what will they do?

Shed your ragged dress, oh Persephone, and return to the slumber of the earth Bide your time, and sow new raiment, and I'll watch your dance again #poem #poet #poetry #writingcommunity

hard-drive find: a short comic I roughed out about a depressed superhero/magical girl "Third Man Syndrome" original script in the alt-text

four of them

behold: Amuro the Amaryllis that is all. thank you for beholding

All done! For a spur-of-the-moment project, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Give it a read, it's about 32 pages/9000 words total.

Nvidia lost 500 billion in 'market value' today but did you know the total output of America’s farms contributed $222 billion to the GDP in 2023? (source: USDA) Imagine if every crop in America (x2) evaporated overnight, and the impact that would have guys, I don't think the economy is real

My #1 #writing protip? When you finish a project, or reach a major milestone, buy yourself something nice!!! Like maybe a plastic robot or a comic or something I dunno.

Only a couple chapters left - and I've almost actually reached the story prompt!

This is starting to pop off!

The cat is out of the bag at long last! My story ‘As Gentlemen Do’ will be appearing in the “Rising Tides” pirate tales anthology from Outland Entertainment, coming to Kickstarter next month! Watch this space for more details!

Tell me about Macross. Specifically, Macross 7. Do I need to see any other Macross to understand Macross 7? It looks like the G Gundam of Macross, which intrigues me. I've only ever seen Macross Plus, which was pretty good. Macross.

Like Lovecraft? I'm participating in the latest Royal Road magazine contest. Expect frequent updates as I work on my short story throughout January. Follow along! Give me moral support! This is my attempt at emulating H.P. Lovecraft's pulp-gothic style. www.royalroad.com/fiction/1028...

not to brag but I've beaten Nuclear Throne L1

I might actually just be a paper nerd. Authentic Yuzen just feels so good to fold with. This stuff has texture, man.

In 2025 I'm going to use the 'shake' feature of the CLZ app to pull a random comic out of my print collection and share one comic every day for the entire year (or whenever I remember, and catch up). I have some odd stuff in here, it'll be interesting what it spits out. #comics #clzshake

Abbadon's creative process is just asking the question, "What's the most metal fucking thing I can draw in this scenario?" and then striving to one-up that

Whew, beat the 99 floor mode. I think I'm done! Not my favorite game ever, but I got 12 solid hours of entertainment out of it for the price of a coffee, so I can't complain. Protip for new players: Since your attacks interrupt the enemy's, focus on leveling up your agility/attack speed first!

DEVIL SPIRE is pretty good, but its simplistic combat will probably turn off most people. But the game's real depth comes from its crafting & alchemy system. Mix potions! Combine rings. Fuse abilities. Scavenge for scrap. Keep a guide open on your other monitor. Buy it on sale & give it a chance.

no unicorn was ever born who could regret #horriblegirls

my goal for 2025 is to become a soup and sandwich guy Yes, I do want to hear about the Soup of the Day. I do want the Lunch Special. A nice cup of soup would really hit the spot right about now. Some coffee would be great, thanks.

Happy & peaceful holidays, everyone!

picked this up at the bookstore yesterday Peter Pauper Press - Japanese Fairy Tales by Lafcadio Hearn (and others). And the dust jacket was is excellent condition! I had to get a nice scan of the cover, so here you go Bluesky. Love the colours. 💙📚 #BookSky

Interesting passage from Lin Carter's "imaginary worlds" (1973) about escapism in fiction. I've been curious about origins of fantasy tropes, esp. in relating to designing adventure and exploration in games.

Once again Steam is crashing from overwhelming sales traffic. The true holiday tradition.

#shelfie day thirteen - the final shelf (two photos)! Mostly comics, including my state mandated copies of Watchmen and Understanding Comics. also featuring @evandahm.bsky.social's Rice Boy and The Harrowing of Hell.

the eternal dilemma: eat a real meal, or just snack on this baguette all day

#shelfie day twelve (two photos). Another shelf that needs a good sort, and a pruning. Even more Hesse, even more haiku (that comprehensive Bylth set is new, and makes a lot of my other haiku books redundant). And a bunch of Murakami I still haven't gotten around to.

#shelfie day eleven (two photos). Another mess of a shelf. Left side: More Coyote stories, Fujimoto, a bunch of little art books (I like these, they're cute) Right side: Peter Pauper Press (mostly haiku) and a random assortment. A bunch of these have been protected with Brodart covers.

#shelfie day ten - including ye old mythology, a bunch of Coyote stories, and some eastern philosophy stuff. Neat!

#shelfie day nine. What can I say? This shelf is a big mess and I need to clean it up. There are books on here that haven't been touched in years! Remember when people thought the LOST monster was made of nanomachines? That's how long that copy of Prey has been sitting around. I'm old.

#shelfie day eight. More sci-fi, more Hesse, Saint-Exupéry, Achebe and L'Engle, oh my! and if you liked Huxley's dystopian Brave New World, try his utopian Island.

#shelfie day seven: a whole lotta Hermann Hesse, 2/3rds of the Earthsea trilogy, and some odds and ends, including the classics The Princess and the Goblin and The Marvelous Land of Oz (real homies know)

#shelfie day six: aka an old CD tower turned sideways (part one) Got a whole lotta Steinbeck (I've read all his fiction; if you only read one Steinbeck make it Cannery Row). And uh, don't mind the symbol on the Kipling - they're from 1922. It was part of his personal insignia.

#shelfie day five: recent acquisitions, featuring far, far too much Gabriel García Márquez. What was I thinking? One Hundred Years of Solitude took me so long to get through! Oh and LotR is there too.
