My @pastemagazine.bsky.social review of the new Tune-Yards album, BETTER DREAMING, reflects the point along my scaling admiration for the record where I really started to dig what they're doing here; I think I like it even more now than when I wrote the review! So groovy. So fuckin' angry.

good morning, enjoy a big ol' breakfast sandwich made with bacon and dread as the Republican administration hustles to rob us all of our right to privacy

Hey, gaming mag editors: LET. MAX. COOK*. *play video games for you and then you pay him

There is, in my town's local Facebook group, a business bro, or its boomer equivalent; he's honestly too much of a dork on his face for "bro" to fit. I digress. He's on a soapbox of late bloviating about our schools falling behind if town government doesn't embrace AI now. But: this article.

your daily "take the day off, no one's gonna top this post" post

"The lights are blinking, the sirens are turning" reads like the opening sentence in a weird horror fiction novel, just sayin'.

Also! Over at @pastemagazine.bsky.social! Kali Uchis' new album, SINCERELY, (with a comma!), is very, very good; genuinely revealing, lush production, heavenly vocals, and yet the most important part of the whole exercise is that comma in the title.

Hard to say if talking to Sasami for JoySauce was more of a thrill than seeing her perform; I will say that my conversation with her, for JoySauce, resulted in one of the great pull quotes from any interview I've conducted, ever.

Great to be back at @iffboston.bsky.social for the first time in I genuinely don't recall how long; maybe I'll see you there next year if you didn't put in an appearance this year. You should! It's a highlight of Boston's moviegoing year, every year.

"“Your agency will be broke by July, over two months before the end of the fiscal year” - Sen. Chris Murphy ICE's parent agency is running out of funds. Any delay - say, by organized parents - that costs them man hours helps drive them into political crisis. news.bgov.com/bloomberg-go...

good morning to everyone who stayed out late last night for Sasami at Brighton Music Hall, which, on this feed, is probably just me

On the other hand, Cecily Strong gets to come on SNL and barf wine all over Colin Jost again.

Your Pope name is: Last thing you ate + number of letters in your first name — Pope Pineapple IV

Spoke with Ngoc-Tran Vu about her work as an artist, advocate, and community organizer, all baked into her 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Commemoration Initiative, for JoySauce:

Looks like I need to remind everyone to watch ETERNAL YOU from earlier this year, because yeah, that “AI video” ain’t the victim at all!

it's been less than a week since I decided to give this a try, and already, a picture of a burning Israel flag captioned by "how beautiful are God's works" in Arabic has wound up on my timeline; might delete again and come back in a year

It’s my duty as a journalist and as a citizen of the Greater Boston Area to point out that the color of those communities is green.

If you see this, post a sword!

if Queensland is Australia's Florida, and if Brisbane is one of the state's liberal enclaves, then the only correct choice here is to assemble a cast of voice actors from Miami, Tampa, and / or Fort Lauderdale

SHOUTING AT @popheist.com ...oh, *out*. Shouting OUT Pop Heist. Well, I guess "at" helps, too.
