I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

(I should clarify that when I call somebody stupid, it’s not a judgement on their “innate” intelligence or anything like that; rather, it’s a judgment on how they’ve freely chosen to turn their brains to mush)

This is why we have due process; because random people speculating about things is a terrible way to run a government. Without due process, we're all just vigilantes. At its core, that's what this is about. Due process and the rule of law. Everything else is window dressing.

There is a model of reporting that grants anonymity for people to say shitty things about people. There is another model of reporting that grants anonymity to secure information for the public that isn't otherwise public. The former protects people in power; the latter challenges those in power.

Fed Chair Jay Powell seems to be saying that the Fed won't bail the Trump administration out of its economic debacle by cutting rates but it stands ready to prevent a market crisis by providing liquidity - and by crisis I mean markets stop functioning properly, not that asset prices are falling.

Okay so lots of people on the TL are struggling with the creation of art and whether it is worthwhile in this moment. Obviously, I think it is, but rather offer some platitudes about that, I’d like to instead talk about my experience of doing this, and what i have learned.
