It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

So - Rep. Dauphinais is a no on AEDs in senior housing, but wants baby drop-off boxes at hospitals (which are apparently already installed)? If she keeps this up, 47 might ask her to be Surgeon General. 🙄 If you or someone you know is in the 44th, let us know! You are far from alone!

Thanks for getting the word out! Just one note - the districts are swapped. Afriye is running in SD21, and Gaiewski is running in HD40. GOTV!

For someone who solves crimes for a living, it sure looks like Rep. Howard jumped to conclusions and probably made some of his own constituents miserable in the process. He always seems to try to exploit situations for political gain instead of work to resolve problems. theday.com/news/707864/...

Wrote about the morally vacuous, strategically unsound (and also wrong!) anti-“woke”diagnosis everyone’s still sticking with, even in the midst of civil rights apocalypse.

The Conservative Caucus finally got around to publishing its agenda. We offer 2 observations: 1. No surprises. Half these bills show up every year, and the others are fueled by national issues. 2. Reps. DeCaprio and Weir are still not listed. The Caucus may be shrinking again after all!

So...what's it like to have an immigrant take your job, Mr. Trump?

1. Today, the New York Times Editorial Board published a piece titled "Trump's Shameful Campaign Against Transgender Americans." I criticize the paper's attempt to wash away the paper's own culpability in ushering in an era of eradication-based policies. Subscribe to support our journalism.

This piece is only about immigration and anti-trans sports bills. It's weeks late. Nothing about the funding freeze EO or "The Little Muskrats" Data Raid. CT Rs called the EO "common sense" and have been very quiet about the cybercrimes. Why not ask CT Rs about those? ctmirror.org/2025/02/09/i...

"...the Republican Party is protecting the PEOPLE of Connecticut." * *Terms and conditions apply. Offer not valid if your existence, political affiliation, or bank account do not align with our existence, political affiliation, or bank accounts.

3 questions for your town governments, as they enter budget season: 1. How much of your BOE's funding gets removed? 2. What is the mill rate increase necessary to make that lost federal aid up? 3. Is this what your local Republicans voted to have happen? www.nbcnews.com/politics/don...

In 2021, the Conservative Caucus hosted an "Informational Hearing" to let the anti-vax crowd complain about health policies. It's time we do the same the families affected by these terrible policies, and shed light on how the CT GOP is eagerly helping. ASAP! ctmirror.org/2025/02/04/c...

There are 2 clear messaging opportunities here. 1. No matter what the CT GOP says now, your bill is is 47's fault. 2. This does not excuse anyone from trying to fix the underlying problems and remove the utilities' outsized and harmful influence. Let's get it done. ctmirror.org/2025/02/03/c...

The GOP in 2025 - and here in CT - has only one guiding motive: Cause pain to people they don't like. We need to remember that this is not the same set of Rs who worked together with Ds on the 2017 budget. They're almost all gone - so don't hold up anything to try and bring them along.

Start of @raskin.house.gov letter to constituents: "A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles." — Thomas Jefferson, 1798 raskin.house.gov/2025/2/rep-r...

Now's a good time for the Dept. of Public Health, Chairs of the legislative Public Health and Children Committees, and anyone else available to make sure hospitals in CT give a giant middle finger to this EO and make no changes in services. www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-...

CT State Board of Education: You're up!

Every GOP official in CT should have to explain to their districts/towns why this makes sense. Why should you pay your police overtime to do ICE's work just to fix your roads? You didn't mind the no-strings-attached funds from a Dem President - so why is this ok? ctmirror.org/2025/01/30/t...

"Everybody loves guardrails, right? Except when guardrails become roadblocks, which is what we’re approaching right now with the state budget." She said "roadblocks". 👀 @ctwfp.bsky.social

This needs to haunt the entire administration - see what the GOP did after Benghazi? Use that playbook. No thoughts and prayers - we need demands for hearings and accountability. Make them explain why this was ok.

only appropriate political response here is to demand the white house explain how its actions aren’t responsible www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

Demand that your local school board takes a stand and adopts policies that keep schools safe for all students, no matter their immigration status: indivisi.org/safe-schools

Reach out to your Boards of Ed! Demand they state clearly and for the record that they will take no action on these EOs and that all kids, regardless of gender identity, have the right to an education in a safe and supportive environment. Do not let your BOEs obey in advance!

Waiting for the Chair of the Conservative Caucus to have this same energy over 47's blatant violation of federal law and dictatorial power grab. Come on, Fishbein! You and the Caucus trained during the entire COVID era for this moment right here!

Looks like someone saw what happened to Themis Klarides and doesn't want to be on the wrong side of that phone call when it comes.

We would love to see CT's Congressional delegation introduce a bill to codify the now-rescinded EO. Make 47's enablers have to go on record as more focused on enabling his cruelty and billionaire friends than actually worried about military readiness.

"The legislature’s Conservative Caucus, founded in 2017 after Trump’s first election as conservatives nationwide were swept into office, is ready to support the new president despite any criticism..." (Courant hasn't been great lately, but they're right about this.) www.courant.com/2025/01/26/c...

Yesterday, the Conservative Caucus announced its new officers for the 2025-26 term. It's not what you see, it's what we DON'T see, that we think should interest you. Let's check it out - a 🧵. 1/5

If you live in CT you've probably seen the Republicans in our GA spewing anti housing anti LGBTQ pro censorship nonsense. Special election on February 25 for 21st Senate district. If you live in this district vote and donate. Everyone else: please email your reps & sens to vote against that evil.

As more bills got introduced this week, the CT GOP tried to distract us with press conferences. They hoped you wouldn't see even more of them signing up to their agenda. Here are the latest lists. Is your legislator in here? Are they giving the same energy to lowering your electric bill or rent?
