Judge Boasberg's intro to the J.G.G. class cert. starts with Kafka. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

A recent @nytimes.com analysis found that over the last three presidential elections "Republicans are overwhelmingly making gains in working-class counties. Democrats are improving almost exclusively in wealthier areas." Our research shows similar patterns among donors. 🧵 cup.org/4cfm0Az

Another excellent explainer by @brieannafrank.bsky.social on the Religion clause cases currently before the court. @micahschwartzman.bsky.social do you know BrieAnna? I will direct her your way if not--she'd very much appreciate it!

The best people

"I was surprised to discover that the locals spoke something disquietingly akin to English"

The moral horror of this is extreme. Then my mind immediately thinks strategically that Trumpists will likely weaponize this brutality to go after other people who'd never do this. I wish I were just riveted by the sheer horror of burning people alive. Where I am, today; sad, really.

Claudel and Kipling both were fundamentally writers. Scalia was a thuggish judge, who (in WHA's terms) made things happen. Bad things, btw. Auden would know the difference between their distinct roles in society. Predictable that you would not.

the vibes are weird but they're not AGI, they're a cultural-lanugage-based joystick for steering numbers to control the world

Huh, weird, this is inconsistent with the Trump admin's claimed interest in combating antisemitism, which has been their basis for detentions and removals without due process as well as illegal attacks on universities and their students.

that’s right

Just think about this. Whenever I worry about security for an event or assembly, I would think of it as enormously anomalous. What would it be like to think this way every day

The level of ignorance of our executive is breathtaking

This is from The Atlantic. This is exactly how Democrats should message Trump‘s bill. 👇🏻
