Merz just said on German TV that the primary priority of his government will be to ensure that Europe can achieve full strategic independence from the United States in the defence against Russia. Merz was once a die hard Atlanicist. Now, after Trump he is a Gaullist. Extraordinary.

Fascinating watching this. Seeing similar "ignore this shit" directives at State & Dept of the Navy (for civilian employees). Wild that DOJ seems odd man out. Mind boggling seeing department countermand instructions being allowed if not directed by POTUS and treating almost like insider threat.

Decades ago, Eric and I would talk about our dream house and dream life once I got tenure. The house had a library with a rolling ladder, and our life involved owning a horse. None of this came to pass except tenure, and for tenure I am grateful. I still miss him almost 5 yrs later

30+ years ago, I was taking an undergrad constitutional law class, & somehow we were discussing affirmative action. I said outloud that I thought a lot of opposition to AA was racism. Ooooh did I get booed & critiqued by my fellow students at a U w/ a "liberal" reputation. And look where we are now
