I fear that the most likely consequence of Trump's Gaza declaration is terror attacks in the USA by Hamas. Trump has made this easier by demoralising and distracting the CIA and FBI.

Taxes are a means for society to achieve its aims, many of which are to foster an environment favourable to business and in theory the workers, investors, customers and other members of society. So often the discussion ends with talk about tax cuts and increases. Never the social effect of them.

They need regulation to protect their interests from bigger predatory players and abusive actors. They need a system to enforce trust, such as contract law.

Companies need a healthy, suitably educated population to recruit from. They also need a predictable regulatory framework. They are not in business to train the basics. They generally don't want to manage their employees' health beyond the safety relevant to their primary business.

For example, companies are a mechanism for wealth redistribution.

I want a reset on the political discourse. Something that addresses our realities. Not just left right bun fights.

As it is legal for companies to use prison labor in the US, once Trump jails the immigrants will they then be sent back to the companies that paid them before, but now have to work for free?

It is rumoured that Elon Musk may donate 74 million to Reform UK. Money is not free speech, it is only an amplifier, drowning out voices with fewer resources. Your speech is not more valid because you have a bigger megaphone. Speech should be evaluated by how persuasive it is, not its volume.

Why? Truth is nuanced, takes time to gather evidence and elucidate meaning and value. Current engagement is driven by headline, deviation from the accepted and conformation bias. More engagement drives more traffic/promotion, thus suppressing that which takes time to process and has nuance.

Free speech as advocated by social media suppresses truth and promotes sensationalism, rumour and lies.
