From @dickzoutman.bsky.social of the @cancovsoc.bsky.social: “The COVID pandemic has had devastating impacts on Canadians and on the health care system in particular. Our political leaders need to address the impacts that COVID has had and is continuing to have given the pandemic has not ended,”

Bien que les infections respiratoires aiguës soient l’une des raisons les plus courantes pour lesquelles les gens consultent un médecin, il ne devrait jamais être commun d’en contracter une lors d’un examen de routine. #DesSoinsDeSantéSansSInfecter

While acute respiratory infections are one of the most common reasons people visit the doctor, it absolutely shouldn’t be common to leave a routine visit with one. #HealthCareNotCareless

The New Mexico congressional delegation is pleading with RFK Jr. to promote vaccination and provide other resources in the wake of the measles outbreak. Instead, Kennedy says that the death of a school-aged child as “not unusual”. He can’t get out of his anti-vax corner. His ego is paramount.

Trump officials race to rehire bird flu employees. But the measures come as the USDA is struggling to rehire key employees working on the virus outbreak who were recklessly fired. Roughly a quarter of employees in a critical office for H5N1 were cut. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

I previously pointed to one of my pandemic map tools and predicted that the areas with lower covid vaccine uptake would also be more prone to new ID outbreaks. That seems to be playing out now with the current Ontario measles outbreak in SW Ontario. (orange is lowest vax rate, yellow is next lowest)

Exploitative cancer misinformation everywhere. Our recent study: Google allows advertisers to target the sensitive informational queries of cancer patients misinforeview.hks.harvard.edu/article/goog... Ads led to an estimated 6,717,663 website visits. Paid traffic constituted 44.4% of all traffic.

The large clinical trial of a new Covid vaccine pill (not shot) was halted by RFK Jr www.aol.com/multimillion... The Covid nasal vaccines may be next up to be axed.

Work in progress from our gang…Covid acquired in hospital is about 10% more likely to kill you than Covid for which you’re hospitalized. Makes sense…people hospitalized with other illnesses have enough going on. Giving them Covid on top of that is deadly.

A fantastic article that lays out many of the uncomfortable truths that most people don’t want to face—and for the most part, the media refuses to report. “Around 18 percent of all U.S. adults have had Long COVID…according to the [CDC].” www.citybureau.org/newswire/lon...

META pushes full steam ahead on misinformation as it relates to everything, including health and science.

A treasure chest of all of our immune system exposures and responses is hiding in our B and T cell receptors. Now that's being decoded to make diagnoses. erictopol.substack.com/p/the-first-...

In Canada, we want to access health care with less risk of catching Covid. Period!

Reminder: Ian Hanomansing was called out for platforming people who denied airborne transmission of covid. When provided with the 60 Minutes episode explaining airborne transmission, he replied "interesting", and went on to never mention to his audience that covid is airborne.

Hi folks, We won't be doing a Forecast until the weekend of March 1, due to some health issues for me. The website is also fixed now, but there's a model update in progress, so the numbers won't be stable for another day. Really sorry about that. I'm quite the bottleneck!

Increasingly, vaccine hesitancy about political identity. And antivaxx lies are becoming official policy. These are deadly trends. We MUST fight on with good science and STRONG, clear, creative, and evidence-informed corrections! 💪 My recent take: healthydebate.ca/2024/09/topi...

And here is an incredible thread by the amazing @boghuma.bsky.social with additional flaws. The bottom line: study conflated vaccinated & infected, didn’t test for real-time infections & made major extrapolations based on a handful of participants. And now is fueling lots of anti-vax sentiments.

Ed Yong, the Pulitzer Prize-winning science writer, was one of the most trusted journalists covering Covid-19. His immersion in the pandemic left him depleted, and the natural world helped act as a salve to that despair. Read or listen to The Interview. nyti.ms/3CZsyX5

People claiming that we don't know if vaccines are safe are committing the square one fallacy: either they are willfully ignorant or they are lying. Here's how we know that vaccines are extremely safe. My latest for McGill OSS. www.mcgill.ca/oss/article/...

Imagine if you didn’t have carbon monoxide monitors in hotels and many more people died preventable deaths. That would be considered negligence. Yet we know Covid is airborne and that ffp3 masks work and that antivirals and vaccines help to reduce the severity but our government has left those most
