And the Mount Donna Buang summit, with this tower that's honestly a little terrifying to scale. 😭

The rainforest gallery in the Yarra Ranges. We may have taken too many rainforest walks on this trip, but they honestly never get old.

95 years ago, they planted a California Redwood forest in the mountains east of Melbourne. It's rather bizarre to see such large, old trees growing in such an organized grid. Pictures don't quite capture how weird it feels.

In 2008, I had a coworker who was an ardent Ron Paul supporter, and I asked him what Paul's stance on the National Park System was. He got a chance to ask him directly at a rally, and he basically told him that it wasn't anywhere on his radar of important things to mess with.

Ready for the weddy.

Final stop yesterday was the Maits Rest Rainforest Walk. Didn't get to see any of the carnivorous snails, sadly, but it was a beautiful walk regardless.

The Otways were also a great place for some wildlife sightings. Saw this koala climbing all over a tree, and a cute little echidna rooting around for ants to eat.

The Cape Otway Lightstation, Australia's oldest lighthouse.

Great Ocean Road views, including the Loch Ard Gorge, Razorback and Twelve Apostles.

Flight 2025-11. SYD-AVV. Based on the landing, Jetstar is also the Ryanair of Australia.

I see that Jetstar is the Frontier Airlines of Australia. 😭

We had a couple hours free so we saw the new Captain America. First time in a theatre where the seat moves with the movie, and honestly, the execution is a lot classier than I expected it to be.

I always forget how nice it is to go through security at the airport without throwing away the drink I just bought, taking off my shoes for no reason, or getting yelled at for 5 minutes straight.

It was pretty damn cold for a beach day, but there was absolutely no way I wasn't gonna swim at the Bondi Icebergs Pool.

Autty and I are suckers for a good graveyard. Especially an old and beautiful one on a seaside cliff like Waverly Cemetery.

First quick stop today, Paddington Reservoir Gardens.

Final stop of the night, Purikura Photoland, where you can get completely natural photos of yourself printed, while teaching your daughter -- through the magic of 100 claw machines -- just how unsatisfying gambling actually is.

Then, of course, had to get down to the harbor and enjoy the sunset. One thing I absolutely love about Australia is how many bats are always flying around at dusk. 🦇 😍

While deciding on dinner spots, we stumbled upon Altitude at the Shangri La, and decided we might as well go big for our anniversary. 19 years together now! They were kind enough to allow us a table despite us being far underdressed for their dress code. The view of the harbor was an added bonus.

First stop in Sydney proper was the Chinese Garden of Friendship. Beautiful little garden.

The gondola and funicular at Scenic World were fun and all, but the real star of this stop was hiking the Furber Steps and seeing all the viewpoints on the way down. Tons of cockatoos and some of the biggest ferns I've ever seen.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. Yesterday, since we were in Canberra, we dropped by the Department of Home Affairs for a selfie. Thanks for finally letting Autty in, bureaucrats!

We're in the mountains west of Sydney and for some reason there's still an American bill in a tip jar. Our dumbass citizens consistently can't figure out how the world works.

Also stopped by the Australian War Memorial.

A few shots of some of my favorite pieces from the National Gallery of Australia.

Popped over to Canberra and checked out the parliament house. Got to see one of the only remaining copies of the Magna Carta.

Kiama blowhole and lighthouse. Best blowhole I've ever seen.

Drove along the Sea Cliff Bridge on the way to Bombo Headland Geological Site. I kinda love how absolutely chaotic every coastline is here.

I didn't realize that Australia is basically just America except in the 90s.

Flight 2025-10. BNE-SYD. On to the next area of Australia. Was able to see the opera house as we landed, and the flight wasn't overshadowed by crushing depression this time! 🥰

Today's experience of snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef and exploring Lady Musgrave Island in the Capricornia Cays.

After the zoo, we hiked to the summit of Mount Ngungun to see the panoramic views of the Glass House Mountains.

Australia Zoo was so much better than I realized it would be. 🤯 I didn't know how much you get to actually experience there. I could have pet the kangaroos all day.

After I picked up Autty from the airport, we drove down to the Natural Bridge in Springbrook National Park to see the glow worms. They're basically one of the many natural wonders of this world.

The Gold Coast is great because nestled between all of the hella dangerous waves, you get a little half acre of super fun wave pool heaven.

Finally Curtis Falls, which looks a lot like the tallest waterfall in the world. 😏

Got stickbugged in the rainforest, too.

Tambourine Rainforest Skywalk. Beautiful, and at times scary because the platform shakes back and forth when there's a lot of people on it.
