As an MA student, I wrote a whole module essay on this photo. Tutor didn't really rate it. As a consultant on #AThousandBlows I helped nudge the writers in the direction of this scene. It ended up being my favourite few seconds of the show. Malachi just making me cry here, it's fine, it's fine 😭

More #BlackHistoryMonth 🇺🇸+🇨🇦 cycling? Germain Ibron, from Martinique. Along with Hippolyte Figaro, Woody Headspeth, AC Spain + William Ivy he was active in France during Major Taylor's time. The need to make Taylor a cycling exception - rather than an exceptional cyclist - renders them invisible.
