As an MA student, I wrote a whole module essay on this photo. Tutor didn't really rate it. As a consultant on #AThousandBlows I helped nudge the writers in the direction of this scene. It ended up being my favourite few seconds of the show. Malachi just making me cry here, it's fine, it's fine 😭

🤔

More #BlackHistoryMonth 🇺🇸+🇨🇦 cycling? Germain Ibron, from Martinique. Along with Hippolyte Figaro, Woody Headspeth, AC Spain + William Ivy he was active in France during Major Taylor's time. The need to make Taylor a cycling exception - rather than an exceptional cyclist - renders them invisible.

It can top it by giving a definitive answer on the evil that is coddle.

I'll stop banging on about it soon, but, my little blog has had 26,000 views since Thursday. Not been promoted by Disney, and only a handful of traffic is from media who have linked. It's ALL people Googling 'Hezekiah Moscow, Alec Munroe, Sugar Goodson, true stories' 🥹🙏🏻 www.grapplingwithhistory.com

As #BlackHistoryMonth draws to a close, I still haven't bothered posting abt Major Taylor or Kitty Knox or the Buffalo Soldiers. Instead we've had some actual history about Ike Johnson, along with Woody Headspeth, AC Spain + Hippolyte Figaro. Oh! And Josephine Baker too. Today: Albert Pearce.

So the whole NCU thing comes down to a piece of law about 'furious driving'. If you've been watching A Thousand Blows on **sn*y+ (they've abolished DEI) you'll have come across Lord Lonsdale (of the Belt fame, and the inventor of the sweatshirt*). This is him. * This bit may not be actually true.

Draw me a bicycle...
