did:web is cool, but also feels like a time bomb; domains expire, owner change, and that means did:web aren't inherently durable an old document may mention a did:web but how can you be sure it's actually referring to the current thing on that domain and not something that's been now replaced?

People hating on Windows's start menu being React Native when it's literally just fine and NOT why its slow to show up It's slow because of bing requests and what not, disable that and it's instantaneous 🙃 Morons who don't understand shit about performance and keep spreading false knowledge 🤬

kind of annoyed that Lucide icons enables/encourages use of svg-as-components through all its readily-available packages, since that's worst way of embedding svgs :/

Funny TypeScript: when you want a "whatever value" somewhere (e.g. in a Vue ref you know will always have a value but don't want to pass it right at ref init), you can pass the *Yelled Null* value (`null!`)

Extremely common EU L as they've added IPFS to their piracy watchlist Another reminder that the EU is not your friend and it doesn't care about your rights once that doesn't align with their agenda and vendetta anymore

i lost the game :(

the internet is stupidly inefficient at carrying live data compared to good old over-the-air signals it's great for on-demand content, but anything real-time is kind of a big waste. It's quite a shame that multicast isn't explored that much

It's too easy to censor scientific data. We should decentralize scientific data somewhat. I'm building a simple tool for censorship-resistant data archiving. It uses the same tech as Bluesky. github.com/gordonbrande...

The state of the decorators proposal is quite unfortunate :/ It's limited to ES6 classes, so not available on plain functions which is a pain; also not available on parameters currently (its in a follow up proposal) And no engine intends to ship as of now ://

France's data privacy watchdog proposed a zero-knowledge based system for age verification back in 2022 It's kind of annoying seeing invasive age checks being deployed when such solutions do exist but no one seems to care :/ linc.cnil.fr/demonstratio...

I feel like many people are entitled to software being free and that's a huge problem Like some software? Use it frequently? Give a few bucks if you can afford it. Just a buck or two, at scale that's enough to give the devs a decent pay

certain people with AI lately

damn I'm today's cemantle

@vercidium.com makes cool videos you should watch if you're into game development (and/or are curious about fancy things people do in game engines) 🤍 www.youtube.com/@Vercidium

If you think software availability on Linux is a pain, wait until you try a *BSD rofl

I forget how simple installing openbsd is, the installer is really nice

Will Figma outlaw the word "config" now?

im so sick of every single person around me talking about how they use chatgpt for some nonesense stuff
