I'm pleasantly surprised even the JP council said this was dumb. www.nola.com/news/jeffers...

Having somebody read through all the "how I productively spent last week" emails is not exactly...efficient. I'm sure the DOGE answer involves AI.

I still say they shouldn't have canceled parades yesterday. It was definitely yucky, but if krewes and spectators want to endure that, that's up to them. Parades should only be (and used to only be) canceled for dangerous conditions, which was not predicted for yesterday anyway. Bad precedent set.

The parades ahead of it were so long and/or delayed the last few years that King Arthur was already "after dark" a few times already.

It better start storming or I'm going to be mad for all the krewes that got the boot today.

Does anyone else get the willies whenever they see the words "Family Gras"?

NOLAREADY already way overdoing it with the Mardi Gras texts. Next one is going to say, "Remember, don't pick up beads that have been on the ground more than 10 seconds."

SCRIM IS MINE!

SWB bill up $20 after running the water during the blizzard. I guess it could be worse.

@skookses.bsky.social Is the 20th century over?

Somebody will have to explain Red Hulk vs. Green Hulk to me. But I'm also wondering why an 80 year old Harrison Ford was the man for the job. They couldn't find a younger guy to get angry?

What's the point of these NFL "rules" that say you can't hire certain people within certain timeframes, but it's an open secret (even reported by NFL's own press people) that a guy like Kellen Moore is the new Saints coach?

Scrim walking into Zeus's Place right now.

The Chiefs should fire Dennis Allen.

Well that's an all time dumb NOLA READY text. "Hey y'all, it's raining."

Joe Pesci is 82. Here’s the pivotal scene from Goodfellas when he gets elaborately whacked by the mob for killing Billy Batts

They're here to party, not engage with NOLA, and that's ok. It's not personal. Maybe a few will get poboys, but they're not seeking out zydeco, antebellum architecture, or Fleurty Girl bling. Why would they? They're here for their team, that's about it.

There's no way I'm buying, of course, but a seat in the terrace for $2700 doesn't seem that bad (as obscenely priced luxuries go). I think it's more KC fatigue than anything else. Their fans probably spent a big chunk and got herpes in Vegas last year. Why do it again here?

Report from the FQ. Parked near the lower Quarter. Pretty quiet as per usual. Jackson Square was populated but not as much as you'd think. Only food for sale was Lucky Dogs. Seems like a missed opportunity to not set up booths FQ Fest style but I guess there's some Clean Zone BS or something

The usual holy rollers are out in Jackson Square but there's some group that's protesting male circumcision as well. I thought this was supposed to be funny or something but apparently not.

Hmm. What to make of this? We know there are gobs of visitors here. Maybe they're exploring outside the FQ? Sorry for the Quarter but isn't that a good thing and something we usually complain about with visitors focusing too much on the Quarter, Bourbon St, etc?

It seems like the Super Bowl security philosophy is "We had to destroy the French Quarter in order to save it." Considering biking down there to see for myself but probably not.

I've seen a few of these now. Has Mona Lisa been doing these snarky flyers forever or is it a recent thing?

Billy Nungesser paid 2 million dollars or something for this, right? www.nola.com/sports/super...

Okay, so has anyone seen an actual human wearing one of these?

So did we get all our homework done in time for the Super Bowl?
