Maizie Grace saw me driving down a road near my house a couple of years ago and willed me to stop. No tag, no collar, no chip, and her people were not looking for her. She was about six months old and pretty much feral. Fast forward to today. I’m so grateful she rescued me.

I’ve changed my handle to Nanyehi to honor my third great grandmother. Nanyehi Nancy Ward was a Cherokee Ghigau (Beloved Woman) who was recognized for her courage and leadership. She was given a seat next to the war and peace chiefs at the ceremonial fire in Chota.
