:There was a coup in America, and no one noticed. It was a slow-moving coup, decades in the making, forged by redefining laws and loyalty until the contours of betrayal blurred." --THEY KNEW (2022)

I’m here now:

1. The EEOC acting chair, Andrea Lucas, has announced that a private business transgender bathroom ban is her top priority. This comes in the wake of a slew of anti-trans executive orders. Latest from Mira Lazine. Subscribe to support our journalism. www.erininthemorning.com/p/eeoc-chair...

This is the end game. This would prevent any trans person from working outside the home. Trump really is trying to eradicate trans people from society. Fuck.

1. Yesterday, Trump's executive order crossed a new line. No longer are the NYT Op-eds, thin veneers of pseudoscience, and false claims about trans people needed to justify discrimination. We enter an era where our humanity itself is officially questioned. Subscribe to support my journalism.

This is a print I made in honor of our local bears and in honor of our annual bluegrass festival. #JanuArty #flat #day28

The people now in charge of the Office of Personnel Management apparently don’t know how to scrub PDF metadata, and have exposed the original authors of the guidance they’re publishing. Two, Noah Peters and James Sherk, have links to the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025.

Deleted this thread because the claims on Reddit about the authors don't appear to be accurate. The metadata is present and does list author names, but they aren't who the initial post suggested.

I am begging the national media to start taking this seriously. Stop buying the claims that the framing of "temporary" or "pause." They are altering the review processes of federally funded scientific research from merit-based peer review processes to political screening by ideologues.

So far here’s a list of companies reinforcing their commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Apple Costco Bank of America Delta JP Morgan Marriott Microsoft Procter & Gamble Goldman Sachs American Airlines Southwest Airlines United Airlines Catholic Health

Hey everyone! Incredible news! Trans Scouts selling GS cookies this year on my list have sold over 50,000 boxes of GS cookies! If you want girl scout cookies, consider buying from a trans girl scout this year! They'll mail them to you! This is literally my fav thing to do every year :)

Was just about to get up and finally be semi productive and this happened.❤️

Yesterday, I broke down Trump’s executive orders targeting immigrant communities. Today, let’s talk Trump’s executive orders targeting minorities – I.E., every person that isn’t a white, cis, straight, able-bodied man. (1/3)

Totally normal

🚨 Let’s get 500 reposts to make sure people see this new ad from Protect Our Care calling out House Republicans’ plans to cut Medicaid:

Some good news. www.bbc.com/news/live/cz...

Today in @democrats-judiciary.house.gov I played a little game with Donald Trump's lies on immigration: Rhetoric or Reality? Let's all play along!

DEI programs were created to give everyone who meet objective standards a fair shot at serving our country. Diversity has changed America for the BETTER. Rolling back these programs and offices with an executive order is completely disgraceful. www.cnn.com/2025/01/21/p...

I criticize Dems so hard because it's the only way we will ever get out of this. The next four years are going to suck for queer and trans people, immigrants, unions, wealth inequality, those who need healthcare, and more. We only claw back with a party that knows where its heart is.

The gospel according to Saint Mariann

This is so powerful. Thank you, to those little people who stand up to money and power.

SHARE WIDELY. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one. (1/3)

This is the face of courage and compassion. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking truth to power on behalf of the marginalized.

Major news breaking from NOTUS on Trump’s trans passport ban: It will not be retroactive. Very glad I and others encouraged people to get their passports in the lead up to Trump’s inauguration. Now hopefully this EO is defeated in court. www.notus.org/whitehouse/t...

If she can do it, we can all do it.

AOC: I don’t care what Elon Musk is doing behind the presidential seal, but in this country we hate Nazis. Kind of like a foundational defining thing. Two of the foundational things about American history is that we beat the confederates and we beat the Nazis.

Baby girl! So sweet!

My partner painted this for over my desk. Love her so much!

Recently took a peek at Twitter and the disinformation is getting substantially more dangerous. Someone could get killed. The tactics of constantly repeating outright lies, targeting specific people, repurposing years-old footage and presenting them as new is getting to another level. It’s scary.

We’re so sorry, rest of the world.

Not a day passes that someone doesn’t tell me that they are exhausted or, more candidly, afraid. It is okay to be tired and understandable to be afraid. Courage doesn’t come from being well rested and feeling safe. It is found in overcoming those emotions. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/we-a...

The eact same bad actors, law firms, comms consultants, and radicalized online networks that smear high profile women in entertainment are smearing women in journalism, using the exact same tactics to try to discredit them and drive them out of the field.

This house ethics report alleges that Matt Gaetz was a sitting member of congress when he paid a 17 year old for sex www.cbsnews.com/news/matt-ga...

Yesterday, 37 Democratic Senators voted to pass the anti-trans NDAA. Those same Dems refused to allow Senator Baldwin to advance an amendment to remove anti-trans provisions from the bill. EITM has released an easy to read list of Senators who voted for it. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Crockett: I can't say why my colleagues are acting the way that they are. I can say that the American people are tired of us bringing a butter knife to a real fight

Good morning Bluesky 😊

Reminder: Don’t just block on Bluesky, report. This place actually will ban trolls and harassment. Second pro-tip: My comment section is a great place to practice this.
