Have you ever taken the time to read the oath taken by naturalized citizens?

I want to say again to academics who are interested in public writing. Look locally. Sure national outlets are good and I do that too, but this kind of visibility in your community can have a real impact.

On the Left(s), we constantly have to beg and borrow. You spend countless hours to raise a fraction of what rightwing organizers raise in a quarter of the time. It really hinders what can be done. Hardly anyone wants to have honest conversations about money and organizing.

Government of the people, by the people, for the people. This is what we believe. This is what we fight for. It’s a revolutionary idea that must be renewed each generation or it dies.

One of the oldest arguments against workplace diversity was that qualified white men would be passed over for unqualified or incompetent members of equity groups, which of course presumed that no one in those disadvantaged groups could themselves ever be qualified hires.

Just a reminder! Stop posting pictures of people’s faces from protests. Signs yes, faces no.

CSPAN Caller from West Virginia: I’m a diabetic and I’m on Medicare. When Biden was in there, my insulin was $6 for a 28 day supply. I just went to CVS, it went back up to $80…

Everywhere he goes, he should he chants of: Traitor, traitor

Ok, I'm doing a version of this thread for 🧪 who are new to political conditions where info security is a safety issue: 1. Don't make public lists of people who are engaging in acts of resistance 2. Be weary of calls to advertise acts of subversion 3. Don't live post resistance meetings

People can boycott giving to the Dems until Schumer and Jeffries are gone and they are replaced with ppl ready to lead an opposition party.

Traitor

Five major airlines—American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and United—have joined an airline trade association lawsuit to overturn a Department of Transportation rule that forces airlines to treat wheelchair users and their mobility devices with dignity.

Of course many federal workers can just “find another job”. But the point is that the jobs we do are done for the *public good*. There are no private sector corollaries. We do things that are largely not profitable and that is on purpose. We do work that benefits everyone, if sometimes indirectly.

Johnny Cash God’s Gonna Cut You Down

today's free social media advice for sitting legislators: you gotta stop logging on to say "this is unacceptable" unless you are prepared with a CALL TO ACTION or to tell us what YOU are CURRENTLY doing about it. saying "this is bad" but louder helps nobody.

Happening now: New Georgia Project staff are walking out to demand management recognize their union and reverse the retaliatory firing of 14 union organizers. Multiple unions and organizations are here in solidarity. #gapol

I think forcing out the Dem leaders of the Senate and the House for not doing absolutely everything they can to slow this shit down would go a LOOOONG way with the American people at this very moment in time.

Without a doubt one of the most important podcast episodes I’ve ever listened to. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m...

Hey Georgians- are you frustrated with high Georgia Power bills? How about data centers- love ‘em? If you have a flexible schedule join me tomorrow at a hearing on Senate bill 34 requiring data centers to pay the actual cost of energy to serve their needs.

Literally the reason the ACA is such a weak law compared to what it was envisioned as is because of this. We could have had universal healthcare if the Republicans rolled over the same way the Democrats are.

This man is the ranking member of the House aviation subcommittee. Rather than work last night to try to stop any of this, he live-skeeted the 50th SNL reunion. When people asked him to please do his job he threw an entitled fit. And now his contribution today is posting article screenshots.

I’ve always wished Democrats would reframe “regulations” as “protections.” We regulate companies to protect people from drinking poisoned water or losing their life savings. A subtle semantic change that might make a difference.

We're in a constitutional crisis where Democrats need to grind everything to a halt. Voting in favor of literally any Trump nominee, no matter how innocuous at first glance, is inexcusable.

I came to the realization that mainstream journalism was no longer a place where journalism would be defended out of principle when Palestinian journalists kept dying to sniper fire w/ no outcry, and when students were barred from covering aggresive speech suppression AT COLUMBIA with no outcry.

I just know these fools are fretting over each and every episode of Andor Season 2 right now.

Have I missed the Op-Ed by George Clooney asking for Schumer and Jeffries to step aside?

gee. weird. "Farmers report missing millions of dollars of funding they were promised by the U.S. Agriculture Department, despite promises from the Trump administration that a federal funding freeze would not apply to projects directly benefiting individuals." www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...
