I had to work rather than protest, and the only reason I didn't call out is that my husband, his parents, his sister, her husband and their kids all went out--and they live in a loudly trumpy part of Virginia. They didn't even get counter protesters.

Another way to frame this is that the overwhelming majority of "protests" are actually pep rallies. You'll show up, cheer for the team, and head home without even a whiff of danger or violence. If it turns into an active protest, people will defend newbies and start to teach them what to do quickly

The nibling visit went pretty great! We went to an art museum, went thrifting where Chris found me a leather vest, ate some good food, and spent some nice quiet time together too. Now I'm trying to feel like trying a meditation group tonight.
