Day 949 of Interval Training: First 5K in almost a month - low, slow, and a bit stiff from it - but no real pain. I almost thought that I was gonna cry on the home stretch from the humbling accomplishment.

My brother Ty improvised some drum riffs for me riff over and texted them to me last night. Who says you can jam together remotely? vimeo.com/1059463610?u...

New edit of the fourth part of the Soderbergh videographic book dropped - through SOLARIS. Up next? K-STREET. vimeo.com/showcase/110...

Day 948 of Interval Training: I was hoping today would be a run day with the PT but it was not. Three weeks out from the LA Marathon. Really feels like it could go either way now and my optimism keeps veering towards pessimism. Ugh.

Gonna tell my kids this was Captain America.

Profoundly stupid move. LA is on the same horrible Democratic Mayor route that NYC is on. How do we recruit some incompetent folks who think optics begin and end with the optometrist? ktla.com/news/califor...

See you two again in three weeks, loves.

Got some Tacos Mi Pueblo al pastor for brunch.

Much better than LONGLEGS - the weird tonal shifts there, the dark comedy, works much better here.

Update: It’s because the urgent care folded the x-ray into my general visit, I haven’t met my deductible for 2025, and because - despite being in-network - the provider was located within a hospital, which tends to bill more for x-rays. Fucking wild.

I do not understand health insurance - I’ve been on Nicole’s Netflix Blue Cross plan for years. During COVID, I went to urgent care for foot pain. They took an x-ray and I was simply charged for an urgent care office visit.

So Nicole has been ordering Pabst fresh grass every couple of weeks so that we can keep it on the balcony and take him there to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and during inclimate weather. He took a pee this morning and it quickly froze into an ice slick because it’s 15 degrees. 🤣

Hell yeah @chriswarcraft.bsky.social

Wednesday Mood: We couldn’t find Pabst while Nicole was cooking beef stroganoff. There aren’t many places to hide in a one bedroom, so I found him under my bed by the guitars. I gave him some of the steak and he was more understanding.

Made 51 hours to Henry Jenkins's 60 last week on our Watch-a-Thon. A lot of rewatches for class, in addition to most of the 50th anniversary SNL programming and a lot of music docs on influential bass players.

Went for PT and dry needling today for my IT band and it was a fantastic visit. I found out my trainer - Nick - is a fellow member of the Texarkana Runners group and had seen my post a couple weeks back.

A very light dusting of snow in Texarkana this morning. Almost all melted already, but it was a bit nice to have for an hour.

it's not that i don't understand quitting especially after raising a stink but i really the fuck can't wait for some high-ranking official to make the New Stormtroopers drag them the fuck out of the building

Forgive the less than appealing photo - I devoured one bowl already! Nicole made me a batch of her chicken tikka and it’s amazing!

Day 947 of Interval Training: Another day of PT on the treadmill - starting to slowly come to terms that I might be in the 35% of people who train for a marathon and get derailed by an injury. Four weeks in, four weeks out and I still can’t run one mile comfortably.

Monday Mood

Watching a Motown doc and one of the Funk Brothers just told this James Jamerson story. ☠️
