There's a tag for the Normandy campaign (6 June – 21 August 1944) in the @ibccdigitalarchive.bsky.social - or you can search by the date. #OTD #D-Day #History #WW2 There's interviews too...

Wizard job by @spitfirefilly.bsky.social on the Beeb's Who Do You Think You Are? with Will Young. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

Stories from the @ibccdigitalarchive.bsky.social will be the source material for this project led by Lincoln Arts Centre to co-create an ambitious, high-quality artistic event, performance, or artwork to be showcased at Lincoln Arts Centre later this year. ourfreedom.org.uk

Wizard, but why is it always this op? @nmtdambusters.bsky.social @almurray.bsky.social @jamesjhistory.bsky.social

I got some bunting for the garden.

We have ways of making them write, and they have ways of making them talk. Congratulations to Niall Cherry, Dan Ellin and Nick Le Huray, who will be speaking at this year's festival. @almurray.bsky.social @nickleh.bsky.social @danellin.bsky.social wehavewaysfest.co.uk/line-up/

I'm going to be speaking at this year's WHW festival! I may be an old-ish (?) white bloke, but I have long hair and I'm on with the wonderful @marybrazier.bsky.social. See also: @normagraham.bsky.social @lydiajane13.bsky.social @claremulley.bsky.social @spitfirefilly.bsky.social @merrynwalters.uk

I'm at a weddinge.

I visited two totally different museums yesterday. The Wellington Museum in Moreton-in-Marsh, and the nuclear bunker at Broadway Tower. A thought out narrative and the personal touch from a volunteer called Kevin who was in The ROC wins for me.

Crash site of Whitley from 24 OTU 2 June 1943. The Whitley crashed into high ground just 200yds from the Royal Observer Corps post at Broadway Tower, in the Cotswolds, at 14.15hrs. The entire crew died. losses.internationalbcc.co.uk/loss/109553/

Les Rutherford was a despatch rider and was rescued after paddling out to sea from St Valery (not Dunkirk) on a barn door. His story is amazing; he went on to fly ops as a bomb aimer and became a prisoner of war in December 1943. #Dunkirk #WW2 #History

It was great to be back recording for series 3 tonight if @nmtdambusters.bsky.social with our first guest Jamie Heffer. Watch this space for when the series drops soon! Tonight I was also accompanied by my new mug. What do you think, folks?

Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy. This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

Voice recognition software fails from the IBCC Digital Archive: Was skin thought bond = Was Scunthorpe bombed? Obama care = Bomber Command. Linkag of Walls = Lincolnshire Wolds. An evil beast = a naval base. Great bride = grapevine. Father Separator = wireless operator. #AI

His collection in the @ibccdigitalarchive.bsky.social contains correspondence, photographs and documents. ibccdigitalarchive.omeka.net/collections/...

I'm watching the Parliamentary debate about the self-ID e-petition and my JAW IS ON THE FLOOR. The MPs speaking are hitting ALL the key pro-trans talking points: - transphobic bias in EHRC - nightmare of SC ruling - toilet bans are awful - must hear trans voices - IGLA rainbow map 1/

Shit. Photo from the Knox collection soon to be added to the IBCC Digital Archive at the University of Lincoln. @nmtdambusters.bsky.social #WW2

Hard day at the office... Photo soon to be added to the IBCC Digital Archive.

The American dream? Trainee pilot, Maurice Stimpson in Albany #OTD 19 May 1942. Flight Lieutenant Maurice Cecil Stimpson DFC flew operations as a pilot with 156 Squadron and was killed 15 February 1944. #WW2 ibccdigitalarchive.omeka.net/collections/...

Weekend reading is sorted. @spitfirefilly.bsky.social

Polish Heritage Day at RAF Ingham 29 June 2025, 10 - 15:00. Live music, food, stalls and activities.

Gardening was much more important to the war effort than the dams raid. Shock horror! Buy @lydiajane13.bsky.social's book to find out why folks!

On this, the anniversary of the famous 617 Squadrons' famous Dam Busters famous raid on the famous dams why not treat your self to a 1:72 diecast scale model of the famous B-17 bomber, a B-25J Mitchell, or a even a toy Tonka?

The @ibccdigitalarchive.bsky.social contains 40,000 items. Only 78 are tagged 'Eder Möhne and Sorpe operation (16–17 May 1943)', and only 105 are tagged 'Gibson, Guy Penrose (1918-1944).' There's more to Bomber Command than one op, one squadron, and one aircraft type. @nmtdambusters.bsky.social

I'm selling a few diecast scale models. Proceeds to go to the IBCC Digital Archive moving in to new offices fund. We need a few things! www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?i...

A panel of historians. @lydiajane13.bsky.social's book is my book of the year, (so far?) and I'm eagerly waiting for @spitfirefilly.bsky.social's to arrive.

A wizard review of a wizard book!

When we are settled in we'll have a behind the scenes day, on a weekend perhaps...

The IBCC Digital Archive's move to the new space on the University of Lincoln's Brayford campus went well, thanks to the wizard university porters! More unpacking tomorrow...

The first load has arrived...

Amongst the many Bomber Command pilgrimage things to visit in Lincolnshire is this gem. Do please check them out and show your support.

RAF Ingham Heritage Centre is open weekends and Thursdays. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Mile widziane są grzeczne psy Zapraszamy! www.rafingham.co.uk/visitors

Looking most forward to chatting with both @ww2tv.bsky.social & @theaviation.show about #EagleDays tonight! We will be livestreaming our talk on both of their channels, so you should be able to catch us somewhere. See you at 7pm! 😊 www.youtube.com/watch?v=uugk... www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpoX...

Hello all! As mentioned previously, this free RAF Museum #Cosford hybrid lecture on #EagleDays has changed to 26th August due to the site moving aircraft around. New link is here (ignore the original date on the graphic). See you there, Midlands crew! ♥️ www.rafmuseum.org.uk/midlands/wha...

My pint glass is refillable.

I'm very much looking forward to chatting with @spitfirefilly.bsky.social tomorrow evening about her new book, Eagle Days. I've read it and think you'll all like it a lot! The plan is a simulcast with @ww2tv.bsky.social on both our channels, which should prove technically interesting at the least.

We're going to be in the Alfred Tennyson Building on the University of Lincoln's main campus. #archives @nmtdambusters.bsky.social @ww2tv.bsky.social

I know the IBCC shop sells a bit of this, but really, Panzerfausts?
