Protest in Boulder CO organized by former Rep David Skaggs: Monday, March 3, at 11:45 outside the NOAA-NIST "campus" on South Broadway, just a bit south of the intersection with Baseline Rd. Those who work at the NOAA labs are at the forefront of understanding and tackling climate change.

My enviro sci students were so sad today :( It's hard not to feel hopeless on the climate front now (and other fronts). To cheer ourselves, we devised the "carbon resistance" in which we will sequestered as much carbon as possible under the soil fertility umbrella: "Make America's Soils Great Again"

Experimental warming and drying increase the age of C in soil CO2 flux in tropical forest - via different mechanisms!Warming increased decomposition ==> older soil C losses. Drying reduced microbial access to new plant carbon inputs. Read more in our paper with @daniela7cusack.bsky.social &others
