Pretty strong argument to be made that this man is more directly responsible for Star Wars than Joseph Campbell and Akira Kurosawa put together. Or even Alex Raymond, for that matter.

Rough times Resurrection Man is my favourite.

Who wants to live forever? @therightram.bsky.social continues to delve deeper into a truly moving tale of choice and consequence with spellbinding art from Anand RK and colors by Mike Spicer. All topped off by a particularly enchanting first page from the late, great Jackson “Butch” Guice.

My entry for the May #hardcoverchallenge from @hardcoverart.com

From my collection: No one attacked the page like the late, great Jorge Zaffino. Here's an example from Winterworld. I can't really show you the painterly layers of ink and white acrylic, but I can show you how Jorge cut out and replaced a whole tier. What a unique, amazing talent.

Lots of good tips and standards to hold yourself to in here. Very thankful to Dave for putting so much out on this stuff for aspiring writers. It's been a great resource for me starting out.

Swamp Thing#1 (1972) by Len Wein (script), Bernie Wrightson (pencils/inks/colors) and Gaspar Saladino (letters).

Today is the birthday of writer & editor Len Wein (June 12, 1948-Sept. 10, 2017). He cocreated Swamp Thing, Wolverine, & most of the new X-Men when he helped revive the team in 1975, and wrote virtually every major hero at Marvel & DC at some point.

Everyone I knew who covered disinformation got laid off, their bosses got bullied into firing them, or they changed their beats from actual Nazi harassment campaigns. It cannot be stressed the damage the paid-for Substack “free speech” guys did in the service of fascism and against real free speech.

THREAD: I was taking a look at art from a century ago and I thought I'd post some of it. Here are some 1925 paintings by Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, and Hannah HĂśch.

Always loved this cover. One of the best things John Byrne has ever drawn for me.

michael hanchard's essay on "racialized time" is essential reading for anyone interested in how the shortened window for marginalized creation fits into the larger systemic model of white supremacy
