I'm waiting for the inevitable #indiewire or #variety article claiming unnamed sources report that #EmiliaPerez has sent two-hundred and seventy-five filmgoers in Mexico City to the hospital.

I'm still figuring out how to use this, since I was never good at Twitter but ween myself off of FB. How about this? I just saw #thebrutalist. Great narrative and acting. The filmmaking didn't do much for me. Seemed like István Szabó coasting. Does that get me any friends or people blocking me?

Although I'm not 62, the kid at #Cinemark sold me a senior ticket w/o asking if I was a senior. I feel bad that #Almodovar won't get the other $2, but in some ways it's appropriate; the film IS all about death. Weirdly for a Friday night, I was the only person in the theatre. Just me. Me and death.

Brilliant #WomanoftheHour #Netflix film by director #AnnaKendrick deserves FAR more attention & 👁️balls. Combining #Hollywood filmmaking at its best w. unsettling nots to #NewFrenchExtremity: #CatherineBreillat #BrunoDumont. It's a new #feminist classic. More complex/sophisticated than it might seem.

I suppose I should promote myself on here a bit more, yeah? My research focuses on horror, mostly through the frameworks of gender and sexuality. Here is my most recent publication on queer horror/experimental filmmaker Curtis Harrington: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

What to watch on Thanksgiving? How about BROADWAY DANNY ROSE or THE ICE STORM? #woodyallen #anglee #miafarrow #sigourneyweaver #thanksgiving

Was ZOLA less awards worthy than ANORA? I know the former had award season handicaps being comedy/film from a less well known director. Still, their surface (and deeper) similarities invites the question. I know which one I liked the most #femalefilmmakerfriday #zola #janiczabravo #rileykeough

I love collecting old newspaper movie ads and I have to say, one of the things I've learned is that people in the cinema distribution and exhibition businesses have an odd idea of what constitutes an "Easter movie."

I have no idea how Bluesky is supposed to work. Is it a Twitter/X substitute? A Facebook substitute? I'll try to figure it out. In the meantime, here's an alarming juxtaposition of shots from Werner Herzog's first feature, SIGNS OF LIFE (1968).
