Achievement unlocked: successfully sharpened a bread knife that was blunt and damaged after 10+ years of not being sharpened. I got a whole set of tools to also sharpen my other blunt knives. 🔪✨️ Downside: nicked my fingers twice 😭

it's been over a week since i quit FB + IG and I'll be real, it sucks. I'm missing a ton of updates from friends and family, I don't feel motivated to post in new places that barely have my old circle, and I can't even view IG content others linked without logging in. I hope I can stick with it.

Not working full-time has made me realize how hard it really is to manage the bare minimum of like, eating, sleeping, exercising, cleaning, and other basic responsibilities. No wonder my health plummeted so hard while I was working full-time — I literally didn't have time to take care of myself.

Burnout by Emily Nagoski talks about this - it helps to bring the nervous system back from the fight/flight levels of stress. Being able to rebalance/recharge makes all of those systems more effective. Even in the thick of a bad situation, it’s a valuable tool to keep going (gallows humor, anyone?)

I deactivated my FB and IG accounts today. I still need WhatsApp since some essential groups and people aren't moving, and deleting Meta would brick my Quest 2. Not ready to delete yet, though. Let's see how I cope, first.
