I've fallen into the German expressionism rabbit hole. It's deep and dark and very dramatically lit. My top 3 so far: "Faust" (1926), "Die Nibelungen" (1924) and, of course, "Metropolis" (1927). I knew they were there but only now my mind has truely opened up to them. Total fascination.
