Now that @obsidian.net has got some heat going, time to get Alpha Protocol 2 in the works!

My daughter wanted me to draw the Mario characters. From memory, no reference, and I got it exactly right.

Lined up at Sam the Record Man to buy it. I was in grade 6.

Just once it would be nice if someone asked ‘how’s Waldo?’

This David Lynch news really hitting hard. I don’t know if there’s another filmmaker who feels as singular and just knowing we’ll never get another one is tough.

Was reading Narnia to my 5 year old last night and when it got to the friendly talking beaver she said, “if I met a talking beaver, I’d kill it.”

“Don’t Dream It’s Over” but every “hey now” is replaced with a Hank Kingsley drop. Can someone make this happen?

Should old acquaintance be forgot? The answer may surprise you.

Sonic 2 feels way longer than the brutalist.

Despicable Me 4 makes Despicable Me 2 look like Despicable Me 1.

Lost my phone. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Turns out I had somehow buried it in the wall of this quinzhee. Dug it out and it still works fine.

My daughter got a camera for the holidays and she’s producing some real nightmare fuel with it.

These instructions came with this puzzle.

Where’s the perennial Baby It’s Cold Outside discourse? Hasn’t come to bluesky yet?

Not a big Dr. Seuss fan but “bed is where more and more people are going” is a very good line.

It’s confusing that whether or not it’s Opposite Day, my daughter has to say it’s not Opposite Day.

Unbelievable. The good news is, you can find First Monday in October yourself instead of waiting for a Facebook ad. Spread some love for this meaty historical tug-of-war game by my friend Talia! www.kickstarter.com/projects/for...

Congrats to Mozart on this very special honour.

Pitch for a hallmark movie: a woman falls in love with a man, suspects him of having a secret life, maybe an affair, and then learns the truth: he’s Santa Claus!

I know Nixon was a former president, I just thought he was also one of Santa’s reindeer.

Love the wirecutter Black Friday write-up that’s like: want a smart tv on a budget, here’s the pick for you. Looking to make breakfast fun with healthy smoothies, here’s the blender you want. Want mind blowing orgasams from clitoral stimulation? Try this vibrator.

More great reporting from the local!

Parents and teachers say special education is underfunded and understaffed, with kids “abandoned” in mainstream classrooms in the name of inclusion. @wencyleung.bsky.social on the crisis in special education. thelocal.to/special-educ...

In this house we believe in the small of a woman's back, the hangin' curveball, high fiber, good scotch, soft core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

This was shockingly accurate for me.

Saw a good bird.

Visiting London and truly shocked I haven’t been hit by a car yet because I look the wrong way every single time I step into the street.

English Teacher is such a delight and such a balm for these times. Brian Jordan Alvarez and the rest of the cast pull of a show that is so warmhearted without ever being sentimental. It’s also just so funny. And Stephanie Koenig made me laugh with every single line delivery.

As a test I posted the same thing on twitter, bluesky and threads. Interestingly, and kind of astoundingly, they all got the exact same reaction! (Zero likes.)

Talking magazines with some friends, and how we miss them, and then remembered saving up to buy this and how excited I was to get it:

For the first few years of my kids lives, they’d listen to her on repeat. Just amazing albums. www.npr.org/2024/11/10/5...

The deep exhaustion that sets in when you finally get some sleep.

The mom with the 5 monkeys jumping on the bed, was that like a munchausen by proxy situation or what was going on there?

Listening to the audiobook of @jasonschreier.bsky.social ‘s Play Nice. Fascinating book and really well read by Ray Chase.

Very happy to be shooting on film again! Photos just look so much better!

When your Thai restaurant isn’t attracting the crowds you want, just change the name.

My 3 year old is always singing “I hate my dada and I love my mama.” And while I don’t like the message I have to admit the tune is pretty catchy.

Find it so weird when these Halloween decorations have specific names and dates. Like, did this guy die in ww2?

About 30 hours into Metaphor Refantazio and this game has to have the best pacing of any massive rpg I’ve ever played. Just a great, engaging story that keeps moving.

I couldn't find one of these so I made it myself. Starter pack of 📖 Narrative Game Devs 📖 Follow these amazing storytellers making lifechanging games. (also let me know if I missed anyone) go.bsky.app/G7uvZ4W

Playing a game with my 5 year old: her teddy bear was running a cake shop, I had a frozen action figure come to visit and ask for a cake, the bear said it was $5. My daughter leaned over and whispered “you have to pay with real money.” She independently invented micro-transactions.

Someone needs to intercut Trump at the MacDonald’s drive-thru with the pay it forward ITYSL sketch.
