Our founding fathers rebelled against a king, yet that is what Trump aspires to be.     Democracy is rooted in “We the people” and I was proud to join hundreds of Long Islanders today in Nick LaLota’s district to make clear we won’t tolerate his refusal to stand up to Trump.

When violent criminals are pardoned due to partisanship… When tribalism excuses violence against the opposing political party… When justice depends on political affiliation… People. Will. Die. GOP leadership must stop this.

Kristi Noem’s DHS is: 1) violating due process 2) disobeying court orders 3) abusing the legal process to trap and deport non-violent, non-criminal immigrants, and 4) now forcibly detaining a sitting U.S Senator for trying to ask a question. She must resign immediately.

This is outrageous. On what basis is DHS arresting a United States Senator trying to ask questions at a press conference? You aren’t breaking the law when you conduct constitutional oversight or ask questions of the agency head who is arresting lawfully present immigrants.

Goldman: Both of the issues Marjorie Taylor Greene raised—were widely publicized and thoroughly debated in committee and on the House floor. If you’re publicly admitting that you didn’t know what you were voting on and now regret it—you’re not competent or qualified to serve in Congress.

I called for the full release of the Epstein Files a month ago because of my suspicion that AG Pam Bondi was concealing the files to protect Donald Trump. Now my suspicion has been confirmed. Release the #EpsteinFiles now!

Trump’s travel ban isn’t immigration policy—it’s an effort to keep non-white people out at our economy’s expense. He’s trying to distract from his disastrous tariffs, his devastating bill for billionaires, and his attack on our democracy. We must keep our eye on the ball.

The authoritarian playbook starts by eviscerating all forms of accountability. Trump has done just that: the media, DOJ/FBI, inspectors general, law firms, non-profits, universities, political enemies, and even the courts. We must confront this coordinated effort.

I've worked alongside ICE agents who arrested violent criminals — not immigrants following the legal process — without wearing masks. You've spent 6 months inciting threats to elected officials and judges. If your policy is above board, there's no need for agents to wear masks.

As I said, Nicole Malliotakis was the deciding vote to cut Medicaid for 52,000 of her own constituents in #NY11. Who is the one lying to their constituents?

Today we rallied in Staten Island outside Nicole Malliotakis’ district office to shed light on her support for chopping Medicaid and SNAP. After insisting she wouldn't cut Medicaid, she sold out her constituents to bankroll billionaires. NY R’s chose Trump over their constituents.

“We all die eventually,” says Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, responding to a question about how Medicaid cuts will result in people dying. Don’t be fooled by false promises and lies—this is who the GOP is. They're okay with people dying so billionaires get tax cuts.

Spare me the fake outrage. None of these people showing up for court are criminals of any kind. As a prosecutor, I worked with many ICE officers who arrested violent criminals. None of them wore masks. Many of your agents are clearly ashamed to carry out your orders.

DHS lawyers are doing an end run around asylum law while masked ICE agents detain citizens, deport sick children and terrorize immigrants doing it the right way. We’re a nation of immigrants searching for the American Dream. This xenophobic purge is lawless and un-American.

Rest in peace to the Lion of Harlem. A decorated veteran, trailblazing legislator, and tireless advocate for justice, Congressman Rangel’s decades of service shaped New York and our nation. May his memory be a blessing.

Let’s go #Knicks!

On the same day he moved to rip health care away from 14M Americans, Trump’s wining and dining his corrupt crypto company’s 220 biggest investors. He’s selling the Office of the Presidency to line his pockets. This is pay-for-play corruption. Per usual, the GOP sits silent.

The politicized charge against @replamonica.bsky.social is part of Trump’s broader effort to use the power of his office as a weapon against anyone who disagrees with him. That is fascism. Speaker Johnson and the GOP continue to sit idly by while Trump usurps all their power and backbone.

Rep Mike Lawler has a clear choice: Trump or his constituents. Who will you choose Mike Lawler?

The GOP bill kicks nearly 10% of my district off their health insurance. It does the same for nearly as many of Elise Stefanik, Nicole Malliotakis, Nick Lalota and Mike Lawler's constituents. It's a disaster for NY and America. "Moderate" NY Rs can block it. They must vote it down.

Donald Trump thinks people’s lives and freedom is a game of immigration apprentice.  Our government — and immigration system — is not a reality television show.  Trump’s use of scared migrants as pawns is cruel and disgusting.

Experienced, non-partisan intelligence officials made an apolitical assessment based solely on the facts, which happen to undercuts Trump’s argument. DNI Gabbard has now fired those nonpartisan IC officials. This is unacceptable politicization of the IC. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

After weeks of chaos, 401k losses, and small businesses pushed over the edge, we got nothing from China and still have a 30% tax on all goods from there. Trump sent us barreling towards a recession for nothing. We can't go backwards—we must invest in the economy of the future.

Trump plans to accept a $400M jet as a gift from Qatar to serve as AF1. Unsurprisingly, AG Pam Bondi, a former registered Qatari foreign agent, signed off on the deal. “Unconstitutional” does not begin to describe this brazen corruption, let alone the national security threats.

Donald Trump doesn’t oppose all immigration. He only opposes immigration for people who are not white.

No matter what he campaigned on, Trump doesn’t decide what the law is. Our Constitution is clear that is SCOTUS’ job, which has repeatedly held that everyone, regardless of legal status, is entitled to due process. Trump’s oath of office requires him to follow the Constitution.

Trump's making a mockery of the DOJ. First Kash Patel is appointed FBI Director. Next Alina Habba is named US Attorney in NJ. Now, he's named Fox News' Jeanine Pirro for US Atty in DC, which has jurisdiction over Trump’s crypto corruption. His assault on the law continues.

What do New York Republicans need to do to fully repeal the SALT cap? Nothing. It's already set to expire in January 2026, saving New York families billions in taxes. Remember, if the cap remains in any form, it's only because New York Republicans will have voted to keep it.

Trump and his minions like Stephen Miller say the judges protecting us from his authoritarian overreach are “rogue radical Marxists,” but remember: He appointed some of them. Due process doesn’t depend on ideology, party, or immigration status. It’s a fundamental right.

This is an incredibly dangerous moment for the world, as 2 nuclear powers are on the verge of all-out war. Time and again, U.S. leadership has pulled the world back from the brink. Under Trump, we are abandoning the world stage. That doesn't promote peace; it invites chaos.

This encapsulates everything you need to know about who Donald Trump is. He openly admits that he takes credit for anything good and passes the buck for anything bad.

Mike Pence and I agree on little — except love for this country and the Constitution. No one is more deserving of a Profile in Courage. On J6 he risked his life and ended his career to fight for democracy. In return, the GOP ostracized him. He has the eternal thanks of our nation.

Rs hold a 3-vote majority in the house–yet even those in purple districts have fallen in line with the GOP's draconian budget plan that will decimate Medicaid and other federal funding. I will make sure New York voters know who cut their health insurance coverage.

Movies are a national security threat but Pete Hegseth isn’t?

This is an absurd and weak deflection of responsibility. Imagine if the commander in chief were pawning off military decisions to his “generals.” The president takes an oath to defend the constitution and faithfully execute our laws — nobody elected the lawyers working for him.

Straight from the source: Republicans have designed this partisan budget to increase defense spending and chop domestic funding so many rely on. When they take an axe to Medicaid and blow the deficit to cut taxes for billionaires, you'll know who to blame. Americans LAST!!

Whether it’s due to incompetence, ignorance, cognitive decline, or just plain lying, Trump’s 100 days have been a disaster for the American people. From destructive tariffs to the deportation of U.S citizens, America is weaker than it was 100 days ago. We need to face reality.

Trump golfed for 31 days of his first 100. Now, instead of funding disaster relief, the GOP directed $300M in FEMA funding to pay for Trump's golf security while communities destroyed by natural disasters are being denied aid. Again and again, he chooses himself over Americans.

Dan Goldman to Will Cain on Trump: "Well, I don't think he's competent, Will. I don't know what to tell you." 😆

Trump is the first president to knowingly crash the economy. In 100 days, his tariffs have raised prices, tanked consumer confidence and shrunk the economy for the first time since Covid. As he barrels us into a recession, working people will suffer while his cronies get rich.

Mind-boggling corruption. Trump is brazenly selling access to the White House to the highest bidders (and with no guardrails on nationality). And Republicans remain dead silent. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/23/t...

Russia-Ukraine is a preview of what Trump is trying to do here. His absurd “deal” gives the dictator Putin everything he wants from democratic Ukraine. At home, he is molding the U.S. after Putin’s Russia: empowering oligarchs, squashing dissent, usurping power. Pay attention

How many honorable career prosecutors need to resign before Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche — himself a former career prosecutor — realizes that the way he is running DOJ is unethical, morally bankrupt, and devastating to the rule of law?

Pope Francis was a voice for the marginalized and a tireless advocate for peace and compassion. His legacy of mercy and justice will endure in the hearts of millions around the world.

Due process is fundamental to our democracy. That's why Kilmar’s case is important—if he'd received it, he wouldn’t be in a Salvadoran jail. If Trump successfully disappears Kilmar, he will do it to anyone. Why is he afraid of proving that Kilmar is a member of MS-13 in court?

Only a matter of time until those responsible for this assessment are fired by Trump. When that happens, will Republicans in Congress finally stand up to the wannabe dictator in the White House?

More than ever, we must organize locally against Trump’s authoritarian attacks on NYC. I was grateful to be with Independent Neighborhood Democrats to discuss how to hold this admin accountable, elect Democrats in 2026 to reassert Congressional power, and stop his cruelty long before the election.

Trump sent violent extremists to storm our Capitol and then pardoned them, creating his own militia. No wonder Senator Murkowski is scared of retaliation. When Congressmembers alter votes to avoid threats, they're representing mobs, not the electorate. That's how democracy dies.

Donald Trump must bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home. Not only because SCOTUS ordered it. But because the Administration has a moral obligation to right the wrong caused by its mistake. As Judge Wilkinson so powerfully put it, without due process we will have lawlessness.

Trump violated due process and defied court orders, including a 9-0 SCOTUS decision. We are not a country of dictators and kings—Presidents don’t get to decide what the law is or whether it should be followed. Democracy only survives when the rule of law is followed by us all.
