At today’s grotesque hostage release ceremony, Hamas took along 2 other hostages and parked them in a van nearby. They then filmed those 2 hostages begging for their lives. They’ve released that footage, which has been widely shared over at the other place. I just thought some of you should know.

I have written for @jewishnews.bsky.social about how it's time to phase out UNRWA, a hopelessly compromised agency which has only exacerbated the extreme tensions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. www.jewishnews.co.uk/opinion-unrw...

Much as it’s nice to see politicians around the world saying stuff like “Antisemitism has no place here, this is not who we are”, that’s Step 1. Step 2 is working to ensure that’s the case. Too many politicians seem to just keep repeating Step 1 and thinking that’s enough.

I have written for the @jewishnews.bsky.social about the fact that, as Hamas carried out its mass murder on October 7th 2023, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign called up the Met Police to organise a rally. www.jewishnews.co.uk/opinion-pscs...

Well played, BBC. Well played.

Just a small reminder that next year's World Cup is (currently) due to be held in: the US, Canada and Mexico

A whole bunch of "libertarians" right now:

This was probably my favourite scene in Conclave. Absolutely none of the Cardinals saw this coming!

Stew Peters is also enormously antisemitic and claims that Israel's actions in Gaza just prove that Jews are evil. Just the kind of person Kash Patel hangs around with.

*Public Announcement* After 5 years at the Board of Deputies, including 3 as Director of Public Affairs, I'll be moving on from the organisation at the end of April. The Honorary Officers and Staff Team are doing a fantastic job of taking the organisation forward. (1/2)

Mel Gibson is undoubtedly one of the most repulsive people on the planet.

Ooooh man…

Lol

Still sad to me that there wasn’t some epic schism between astronomers over whether Pluto is still a planet or not, everyone just kind of shrugged and accepted it.

Revenge, like Tzatziki, is a dish best served cold.

History repeats itself, the first time as tragedy, the second time as “yes, I saw what one of the revolving cast of tragic clowns in the three-ring circus did, but I’m too tired to be furious.” Sorry, farce. I meant farce.

“You know what, lads, I have a feeling this is going to be a really bad look someday.”

I can't believe Biden's last act as President was to pardon Linda from The Traitors.

Yep

Random factoid - this is the first inauguration to be held inside for 40 years (Reagan's Second in 1985).

I'm sorry, I've read the opening of this Financial Times piece five times and I still can't stop laughing, pls help.

Those Ant and Dec ads finally pushed them over the edge, eh.

“What’s Columbo?” “Freddie, you’re very young.” 😂😂😂 #TraitorsUK

This statement from Neil Gaiman…certainly brings new meaning to the term “Fantasy Author”. Fresh gas for your light, sir?

I don't think antisemites who rant about the Talmud have the slightest idea of what it says or how it reads. So, for general edification, I have drafted the attached, which gives a just a small sense of what it's like to read the Talmud. And that's without 500 different commentaries on it.

Authors of BlueSky, I hope you can help me. After years of effort, interrupted by distractions that were entirely my fault ("look, a squirrel!"), I have finally finished the 1st draft of a fantasy novel (100,000 words). Do you have any constructive advice re: getting an agent/getting published?
