This is a fair and valid point. I am not convinced this is the point that is in the head of the Labour leadership. They are a party wedded to a deeply nostalgic ideal of the working class who don't want to see the closure of a steel mill on their watch.

Frustrating there's no reliable way to run crons in Django other than using crontab (or k8s etc equivalent). Django-rq is quite buggy (incompatible with latest django, lots of other issues). Celery is, as always, a pain. Something called django-crontabs not maintained for 10 years.
