My lowest stake conspiracy is that the government bought too many of those orange traffic barrels and has no place to store them so they leave them out on roads and highways

When he threatens to withhold funding, Blue state governors need to tell him “keep it, we’ll figure it ourselves.” This is about control for Trump and these governors can draw him into a fight and make him overplay his hand by dictating local politics. Make this a top-down vs bottom-up fight

I think this is Gov Hochul’s opportunity to make a name for herself as the leader of the resistance. Tell him “thanks, but no thanks, we’re going to keep doing our own thing.” This is about control for Trump and she can draw him into a fight and make him overplay his hand by dictating local politics

Direct that energy at Gov Hochul. By telling him “thanks, but no thanks, we’re going to keep doing our own thing” she can establish herself as a leader of the resistance. This is about control for Trump and she can draw him into a fight and make him overplay his hand by dictating local politics

Why not just sell Indiana? We already have Ohio, do we really need both on the roster? At least Ohio teams can win a national championship, Notre Dame can never win the big one and Purdue just loves being upset

These “revisits” will also fail as they have the same flaw that original shopping malls had: they’re products not places. Places are dynamic and resilient, products have a lifecycle that they’ll eventually reach the end of.

Great article! I think good urbanism is produced by a market that does more with less, specifically less land. Sprawl seems to be the product of a dysfunctional market that does less with more land.

Because we’re right on the merits - character is destiny.

Which was John Eastman’s reasoning for why they could overturn the 2020 election. Except that same logic is why all the stuff we buy comes with a warning label saying not to eat it because some knucklehead out would make the same argument “I didn’t know I couldn’t eat legos”. Or overturn an election

Just like the attack at the capitol. Everyone knows the buck stops with some 80 year old lady and not the leader of the free world a block down the road.
