And Saturday was a great last night in Manchester. Alice Lily played surperbly and @emmablackery.bsky.social put on a fantastic show. It was great to hang out with Emma’s tour manager, PWEI bassist @daveydreads.bsky.social too who was super helpful to the band and an all round good guy. Tired now. 💤

A fabulous first night in Glasgow! The sound in the venue at Stereo was superb and ALICE LILY smashed out a fantastic set which warmed the crowd up nicely for @emmablackery.bsky.social’s energetic crowd pleasing performance. Next up, Manchester! #pastandpresent #indierock

And today we’re off on tour! I’m living the dream as AliceLily’s driver/roadie/guitar tech/general logistics coordinator as we head up to Glasgow tonight and then head back to Manchester tomorrow for the next two nights of their tour with @emmablackery.bsky.social Should be fun 🤩

Might wanna to keep NASA around abit.. Officials in NASA confirmed that the chances of asteroid 2024 YR hitting Earth in 2032 have increased to 2.3%, which is now up from 1.9% yesterday. www.lokmattimes.com/internationa...

Apologies for the lack of new blog posts recently. This part of my Physics studies combined with marathon training (not to mention two jobs) is taking up all of my time at the moment. Normal service will be resumed as soon as I have a little more free time.

Long run day today… after my sister and friend both got breast cancer I’m raising money for @breastcancernow.bsky.social and am going to run the Leeds Marathon in pink on May 11th. Any donations large or small to this great cause appreciated 😊 www.justgiving.com/page/dannyro...

My morning americano ☕️ in a fantastic mug with a painting of the Orion Nebula by @vickypaintsspace.bsky.social go check out her work if you like space and art combined! 🔭 🧪

Help #fossil people. How do you stop a pyritised ammonite from degrading? Mine is starting to look like it’s interacting with oxygen or moisture or something. Is it a case of keeping it in a ziplock bag? 🦖 🧪 #fossilfriday

Went for a walk behind my house yesterday afternoon to take part in the @rspb.bsky.social 🦅 birdwatch. What a nice (slightly cold 🥶) way to spend an hour with my wife and contribute data to a project too! 🧪

Yes, I've posted this before, but I would consider it a favour if you would join me in welcoming new users to BlueSky. Search "new to BlueSky," and give a like, welcome message, comment, or follow to the valued newbie. We all started here with 0 followers. Let's build a better Blue. Thank you.

Ordered mine! ☕️ 🌟 🌒

Any cat owners recognise this? Seems fairly accurate to me 🤣 #cats 🐈

Good piece, well written and says a lot of what I was hoping other people were thinking as well. Glad it’s not just me! @theguardian.com

Two cool additions to my collection from Mr Woods Fossils. A soil sample from the K-PG boundary layer, below it, dinosaurs, above it, no (non-avian) dinosaurs 🦕. approx. 66Ma A Pyritised Ammonite, approx. 190 Ma - I love this as Iron Pyrite makes it different to my other Ammonite. #FossilFriday 🧪

Ran a spur of the moment half marathon in training for Leeds Marathon today. Not bad at all! Time to eat ALL the food 😂

here from #TikTok? looking for the astronomers? here they are! #astronomy #physics #science

I think as more and more operators launch 🚀 satellites and other objects into LEO we are likely to see an increase in this kind of story. Quite apart from the problems being created for visual astronomers, we’re putting a store of future impacts into LEO. Are we thinking this through? 🧪 🔭

Oooft! I'm well pleased with this. Again, straight off the scope no post processing done in any tools other than that which the #seestar did automagically. 10 mins on M42 The Orion Nebula before the mist rolled in and obscured further astronomy for tonight. A good result for my first M42! 🧪🔭

Unedited shot of tonight’s waning gibbous moon 🌖 , 96%, from my back garden in Rochdale. Fantastic to get back out and see the sky! Currently shooting my first M42 as well… 🧪 🔭

My surname is Roach which is a fish, and there also used to be character called Billy the Fish in Viz. I was given the name when I was very young at one of my first jobs. Danny the fish was taken and I like Germany so…

Why is a hot spell described as a wave but a cold spell is described as a snap? At what point in the temperature scale does a wave morph into a snap? These are the things that go through my brain at night…

No telescope 🔭 time for me tonight. We’ve had persistent fog all day and a fair bit of snow still on the ground. 😔 I did get 46 minutes on M109 last night though so going to see what I can make of that this weekend. Check out the refraction in these shots from my garden just now.

Whisper it... clear skies... Tonight's target is M109 "The Vacuum Cleaner", I'm hoping to get a decent amount of time on it as I love a spiral galaxy! What's everyone else shooting tonight? 🔭🧪

A view of my garden with about 10 cm of snow (4 inches if you are in the US 🇺🇸, don’t like SI or voted for Brexit)… Thought it would all be gone now…
