Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew and his cabinet trolling Marmalade Mussolini so hard and I am here for it.

You voted for this dude who takes serious time to tell us about 360 year old people getting social support.

He is such a smug face

His shoulder pads are so massive. Why? So he can look more manly and masculine? Isn’t that gender affirming practice?

The idiots cheering for Trump keep on standing up for every single sentence he utters: do they realize how robotic and limited they look?

I miss the days when the biggest debate on social media is if the toilet paper roll should face forward or backward.

I’m only 50-something pages in but @dannyramadan.com had me right from his intro chapter, Trust. I trust you & you can trust me. Thank you for this book. A #memoir for #curiousminds. ✌️ @vikingbooks.bsky.social @penguinbooksusa.bsky.social #books #bookworm

I just want to set down and have my tea in peace.

“Eat. Gay. Love.”

I don’t understand the queer Syrians who celebrate the new regime in Syria. The regime that has announced a cabinet without a single woman minister; the one changing educational curriculum to remove the Big Bang Theory. You realize this regime will never accept you? Right? I’m so confused.

Just returned from #NoFrills. Do you know how hard it is to buy Canadian in that store? Most things are American and it took me a long while with each product to figure out where it is made. Canadian companies should put “MADE IN CANADA” in capital letters on all their products.

The problem with being honest with your doctor in Canada is that the minute they learn you’re on anti-anxiety medication, everything becomes an anxiety. My blurry vision? Anxiety. My Degenerative Disk Disease? Anxiety. My IBS? Anxiety.

Alright. I’m ready to tell you this. I’m working on my next novel. Probably you won’t see it on shelves until 2027, but it’s going well and I’m loving it. It’s about a family of Syrians immigrating to the US in the 1910s, and landing on board the one ship they should’ve avoided: THE TITANIC.

@dannyramadan.com: Thank you for speaking to the many challenges of this moment and for making it clear (in today's letter to members) that The Writers' Union of Canada will continue to be there to support all writers, especially those who have every reason to be feeling deeply afraid right now. 💗

Only three weeks left to submit to the CNFC- @fiddlehd.bsky.social creative nonfiction contest with judge @dannyramadan.com. Time to start polishing! More info about submission guidelines here: creativenonfictioncollective.ca/cnf-contest/ #writingcontest

Great suggestion from @dannyramadan.com! There are loads of fantastic Canadian authors to choose from. #BuyCanadian #BookSky 🍁📚

Hey with all of this “buy Canadian” as a response to the tariffs, can we also remember to READ CANADIAN. Canadian publishers will struggle to distribute books to the US, and Canadian authors struggle to get published there. American authors have a much easier time to be published here. Soooo….

Thing about book challenges is that they’re part of the human history. Many of the books burned in public squares in the past are being taught in schools right now. Collectively, we view knowledge as a weapon against our norm, and aim to destroy it. The fact is- it is indeed that. And that’s okay.

I am slowly returning to my social media presence. I think I will only be available here and on Insta. Anyways. If you’re looking to book me for a school visit or bookstore reading in Toronto. I am there and available in May 11-15th. Hit me up!

bsky.app/profile/dann... Listening to this right now. Highly recommend.

Reading a happy ending is a great way to start the new year. Thanks @dannyramadan.com for sharing your story. What a ride!

Thank you to World Literature Today for this wonderful review of my memoir, Crooked Teeth! www.worldliteraturetoday.org/2024/novembe...
