I've struggled with severe anxiety and depression for years now and it has taken a heavy toll. For so long now, I've not really been living but merely existing. Without antidepressants, I shudder to think where I'd be. Please, if you're struggling, don't be ashamed to ask for help.

I used to work in a factory, making and testing see-saws. It had its ups and downs.

The US is no longer a reliable ally and is more akin to a hostile power. Its incumbent upon Europe, Canada and like-minded nations to make the world less US-centric. Cut them out as much as possible until they abandon their descent into unbridled fascism.

Haven't really watched alot of TV shows recently but I did thoroughly enjoy Skeleton Crew. It was a fun, cool little adventure that ticked a lot of Star Wars boxes for me. Would love another season but its great as a limited series too.

If it's not migrants dooming our society, its trans people. If its not trans people, its leftists. If it's not leftists, it's universities. Maybe, just maybe, the real problem is those perpetuating hateful nonsense and refusing to engage in even basic critical thinking.

Someone has finally written a new book on Horology. It's about time.

Some guy at a sci-fi convention recently tried to shoot me with a replica Star Trek weapon. Fortunately, I was unphased.

Star Trek was always this amazing universe showing what humanity is capable of. A near-utopia where progress, not profit, is the driving force for society. Where compassion rules over cruelty. Where good beats evil. It has never felt as far away for me as it does right now.

Book people, I strongly recommend taking a look at StoryGraph. I saw an article about it recently and initially checked it out because it's a female-led Goodreads alternative that isn't owned by Amazon. Thread of things I like:

Liverpool were pretty awful today (tired, maybe) but the three points is what matters. Wolves were excellent as well, as they have been a lot this season. Good use of VAR to overturn the Jota "pen" as well. Villa next, another tough game.

Listening to Rise Against quite a bit at the moment, as I've been doing for years now. So much of their music seems more prescient and relevant with each passing day. And it all absolutely rocks.

The world is an utter catastrophe right now and likely going to get worse before it gets better. Always remember to tell the people you love how much you cherish and appreciate them. And don't let the evil fascist fuckers win.

Trump will (mercifully) not be around forever and when he's gone, those who enabled his utter lunacy and defended the indefensible should be made to answer for their actions. They are all complicit in what is happening and what will happen.

Labour are not a progressive party any more. They do not deserve the votes of the left. They are a populist, reactionary party that will do and say anything to appease the right, which despises what they should actually stand for. They're barely better than the Tories.

What the trans community is going through right now, especially in the US, is beyond heart-breaking and infuriating. To have your gender identities slowly be erased by right-wing, hypocritical zealots is utterly unconscionable. Trans people deserve so much better.

Have been playing a little College Football 25 to try to coax myself into playing games more often again. Hopefully it works because I want to get into Dragon Age, Starfield etc again but I've not been in the mood to for a while.

I'm still struggling with my mental health and the state of the world but I now realise my usual strategy of isolating myself from everything isn't the healthiest approach. So I'll try to muddle through instead of avoiding it all. Take care and stay awesome.
