"You've landed on the exact page you need on our US site but we see you're not in the US. Would you like to go to a page on the site for your country that has nothing to do with what you're looking for?"

After many false starts with Obsidian, I'm trying out Logseq to see if it matches my mental model more, and it's looking promising. I never liked how Obsidian required file management as well as naming and linking, seems like too many dimensions and decisions.

Other than the redesign, it's clear that macOS has barely changed. UX flows are the same, and there are hints of old UI peeking through everywhere. I hope this isn't Apple's Vista, where half the OS gets left behind, to be forever more stuck in the XP era like happened with Windows.

Congrats to Apple for adding 3 new types of icon and increasing every border radius by 5px, ensuring that designers the world over can continue to do important work, rather boring things like business priorities, and that users can continue to enjoy dated looking banking apps that won't keep up.

Today in "nobody understands stats"... > You should get the property tested for traces of meth, because 1 in 10 properties tested return positive results. Just think of your family and friends, at least one of them is likely to be in a property contaminated with meth!

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, how do you build an SLO on tree-uptime?

VEO3 Prompt: “a man doing stand up comedy in a small venue tells a joke (include the joke in the dialogue)” The video and audio are generated together.

At work I do mock interviews for people considering applying. The whole point is to encourage those who may not feel comfortable applying. The interviews are not graded, I’m not in the hiring loop, and I give feedback throughout. I will never understand people who use ChatGPT in a mock interview.

> Actions -> Forward email > "Do you want to include attachments?" -> Yes, include > "Please find attached the documents" -> Send > "It looks like you meant to attach some documents, are you sure you want to send?" Apple, this is either stupid or gaslighting.

I've realised that this type of coding works best when you don't have too many opinions. If I'm vague, have a simple problem, and don't mind how it's done, I'll likely get a good result. If however I have an opinion and try to prompt it to do it that way, much lower success rate.

For a personal project I needed to generate a bunch of curated search results from a local embedding store. Curating manually was time consuming and unreliable, so I decided to attempt to "vibe code" a tool for generating them...

Windows continues to be trash. I use this PC as a game console. It’s has no customisation other than turning off adverts. Today it crashed, forced an update on reboot, and now the update is complete I don’t have a start bar, just a black bar where it should be.

How is Facebook this perpetually broken? They disconnected my Messenger app. No indication of why, signing back in just didn’t work. I go to the website and it turns out they’ve locked my account (happens every year), and I need to prove I’m still me, but the verification flow 404’s.

Apple’s weather data for Australia is truly terrible. Particularly rain, it seems to miss about 50% of rainy periods. I keep using it because it’s on my home screen, but I’ve noticed I mostly defer to my partner who has an Android phone now as it’s much more accurate (although still not perfect).

@panic.com hey any plans to add some sort of AI support to Nova? I bought it on release and enjoyed using it, trialling again now though and missing the code completion I'm used to in VSCode. I see there are some extensions that do this with local servers but seems a bit of a hassle.

Times I’ve double clocked a song in Apple Music to… …play it: 100% …rename it: 0% And yet, if I double click in the wrong way it doesn’t play and makes the title editable.
