A pathocracy is a form of government where a small group of people with personality disorders hold power over a society of people who are psychologically normal. A pathocracy can emerge when a society is not sufficiently protected against a minority of people with abnormal pathology.

I've only engaged with a few dozen (out of 1.4 billion) Indians this week, but as as a whole they are a living testament to the resilience of pluralism, where countless faiths coexist. (Plus the occasional atheist). Many lessons for the rest of us. To not merely tolerate but enrich one another.

Have to admit, the first time I traveled to India I was kind of "judgy" about the traffic. But if you take the time to really observe, you see a marvel of human collaboration and resilience, showing how people adapt to work within complex environments to make progress, literally and figuratively.

Previous travel to India has been overwhelming, packed with business tasks. This time, I'm aiming for a slower, more extended visit to absorb and experience as much as possible. Still lots of work to do, but looking forward to immersing myself in the rich culture and really "see" as much as I can.

Leaving Banff, Canada and the incomperable Fairmont hotel after facilitating "Strategic Sales Leadership" for the amazing folks at Jacuzzi Group. Their commitment to excellence in products and customer experiences is truly world class. #Banff #Jacuzzi #Leadership

"What would Elon do?" quote from the 2022 Roland Emmerich scifi "Moonfall" AND the 2025 Donald Trump goofball comedy "White House."

We could use more authenticity energy. And competence energy. And empathy energy. And whether the energy source in masculine or feminine, doesn't matter.

Donald Trump Jr. arrives in Nuuk, Greenland. Remember when Carter's "Billy Beer" was a scandal? (if not, Google it) Seems like quaint minor league corruption by today's standards.

The fact that Thomas, Alito, Goesuch and Kavanaugh "would grant the application" is a shameful stain on their reputations and reveals just how political this supreme court is.

Agree. Never will I mix lobster into mac & cheese.

"Hey lady you are messing with the wrong carny whore!" Best line from Goliath season 3. Illeana Douglas as Rita.

Prompted by the opening a recent news story, I Googled the term "Trump Falsely" just to see the number of search results.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Many right-leaning Christians admire him. Driven by faith he gave his life to fight Nazi brutality. I wonder today, regarding poor immigrants, whatever their documentation status, WWBD, what would Bonhoeffer do? #bonhoeffer

Looking back on 2024, the most important advancement I experienced was peppered bacon with a hint of honey.

We've got to hear more of these stories, and I agree... tear it all down.

My goal in 2024 was to lose 10 pounds. Only 15 more to go! #NewYearsResolution

But isn't being out in the crowd part of "the experience?" Otherwise you're just paying a LOT for mozzerala sticks, nachos and wings.

Why love someone platonically when you can love them plate-tectonically (as two crustal masses, colliding with, sliding under, and moving past one another)

My wife has been reccomending this for me. She says it is best if used all day.

"I woke up in the morning and told my husband that the baby hadn't stirred for a while. He uncovered her face and found her blue, biting her tongue, with blood coming out of her mouth."

The world is a better place because of donuts like these.

Don't eat where you poop.

Good Morning The New Year

Of course. Sometimes the carrot. Sometimes the stick. Always unpredictable. That's how Stalin did it.

Are you talking about Trump or having your first baby?

So grateful for Bill Kristol who I've been listening to since his Fox News / Brett Baird panel days. His perspective gives me hope. @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social

I write words.

I live among unvaxxed relatives. (One died of Covid, most have had Covid over the years) I remind myself that unvaxxed does not mean lacking antibodies. It's just that they acquired theirs naturally.

Plus the lightly sweeted savories... bacon with just a hint of honey. Yes in some major ways the world is getting better.

The show "Hot Ones" should publish a hot sauce list in advance for each episode so those of us at home can eat and scream along with the guests. #hotones #seanevans

But you can be occasionally stupid. And then you loved ones usually make sure you know it.

They still care about decency. But Americans assessed competence vs. character to decide with whom they would entrust the presidency. Competence to impact their bank accounts. Not saying it was the right decision, but it wasn't as crazy as many Kamala supporters might believe. (and I'm one of them)

2025 prediction: I will 50 pounds. (actually, lose and gain the same 10 pounds 5 times)

The Perfect Storm

Yes there is enough random weirdo shit on BlueSky now that it feels more… normal human. Congratulations.

Many more have died looking for love. So who are the real idiots?

Also true that no animal could ever be as generous, kind and loving as a man. So Dostoevsky's point is...?
