A side effect of everyone going crazy about Blue Prince, myself included, is that you have a lot of people being like "I've played this 6 hours and I don't see what the big deal is" and I'm going to say it's going to take a while to see what the big deal is.

One common theme among most of my favorite games in recent years — Blue Prince, Outer Wilds, Elden Ring, even Octopath Traveler 2 — is that they trust players to piece together information on their own, without flashing waypoints or friendly companions telling them how to solve each puzzle.

Heads up to any media playing Blue Prince early! I just saw that an update enabled cloud saves and thought "oh cool, now I can try it on my Steam Deck!" I loaded it up on my Steam Deck, it saw no save file. Then I tried again on PC, and it...saw no save file. 40+ hours gone.
