I’d really love to use #BlueSky more frequently if only it felt a little snappier. But most of the day, it loads slowly and feels unresponsive - is it just me?

Ok, I’ve gotten into day trading. What could possibly go wrong? #crypto #daytrading

From the category of “Things that don’t surprise me at all.“ #X #Musk

Guess that 90s #movie .. Paris & Nice. 40% smoking, 60% car chases.

#ElonMusk is the biggest idiot of our generation. There, I said it.

I keep seeing this Trump where he says the Elon/Vivek vanity advisory committee will be “the Manhattan Project of its era” and I think it raises the question of what, exactly, Trump thinks the Manhattan Project did.

Now that no one really wants to be on Elon’s hate platform X anymore, the social media landscape is splintering into smaller and larger ice floes like Threads, Mastodon, and BlueSky. Will there ever be one big platform again, or are these many parallel worlds ‘the new normal’?

New post on #Substack - let me know what you think about it! “Buffering at 42,000 Feet: My Slow Descent Into Wi-Fi Madness. What begins as a minor digital frustration spirals into an existential crisis at 570 miles per hour.”

Biggest “Xit” in history of social media? More than 700,000 new users have signed up for Bluesky after Elon Musk’s X helped propel Trump to election victory..

I cut the rope after 18 years. Hello (again), #BlueSky!

print("Merry Christmas")

I’m pretty excited about the new Pika Video AI I just got access to. It’s pretty much like MidJourney for (very short) video (they do stills, too) - but imagine the possibilities.. if I were working at Disney I’d be pretty nervous.

“X will soon make no money of any sort, and you’ll be left only with the occasional $8 a month from @FreedomBob69” Thermonuclear Elon Musk / X rant by @drewmagary.bsky.social on www.sfgate.com/sf-culture/a...

My five-year-old just lectured me, claiming that the middle armrest between us belongs to him.

Threads is coming to Europe - in a very strange passive mode: “[...] without a profile that allows them to make their own posts". I'm not so sure about the actual impact this will have in terms of daily active users.

Something for connoisseurs of pop-culture..

What if photographer Martin Schoeller were to portray Elon Musk at the age of 80?

Apple and Disney among companies like NBC Universal and Comcast are stopping ads on X after Elon Musk replied to an antisemitic post with ‘the actual truth’. Meanwhile Elon keeps promoting the ad-free Premium+ which will be obsolete soon with all advertisers fled. Do you smell the irony?

Let that sink in.

The fact that ebook and audiobook sales don’t count as sales for bestseller lists is so frustrating. I want people to read/consume my book in whatever format they like, but only actual physical book sales count 😭

There's some legitimacy to what he's saying here, although it's buried in a bit of word salad. (Cue everyone screaming that I'm a Musk apologist. I... truly am not.) But sure: Let's talk about the attribution problem of trust and safety...

I quit photojournalism in favor of my family. Almost eight years later, I finally found the time to sift through my old library, selecting the photographs that mean the most to me.

Upon observing Threads, it seems that BlueSky might be growing increasingly apprehensive about it, followed by Twitter. Threads renders Substack Notes, T2, Nostr, and Spill seemingly obsolete. In my opinion, Mastodon is most likely able to co-exist with Threads being federated. Thoughts?

Is he still running for President? 🤦🏻‍♀️ A Terminal Case Trump and the country are both in a bind, but the spectacle just gets bigger. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/donald-trump-indictment-arraignment-classified-documents-case.html

Looking for a weekend #longread? Highly reccomend this @techreview.bsky.social feature on the new digital border wall, which comes in the form of an app turning vulnerable migrants seeking asylum into... CBP's beta testers. https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/06/16/1074039/border-wall-app/

So great for free speech isn’t it? lol Twitter has suspended the accounts of a prominent Tesla and Elon Musk critic, PlainSite founder Aaron Greenspan https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/06/15/elon-musk-led-twitter-suspended-plainsite-a-prominent-tesla-critic.html

On this day back in 1977, Apple Computer Inc. revolutionized the personal computing industry by shipping their very first Apple II computer.

Omg, there are pics released 😳 These are boxes of classified documents stored at Mar-A-Lago

LMAO. Love that the ad that ran before this 2 minute video satire about VisionPro was preceded by the actual ad from Apple about VisionPro https://youtu.be/UVX6kxnJgMU

I wonder when the first horror movie will have a girl wearing Apple VisionPro watching a movie all by herself being murdered by some Scream-like psycho..

Ok, I’m hyped at max level! I never expected the Apple Vision Pro to be loaded with so many thoughtful features.

Is it me getting older or Ben Folds getting better? I really like “What Matters Most”.

Australian Shepherd Power! 💪🏼
