Gull Dukat. Another one of those mental images I had to exorcise by drawing it. #art #StarTrek #DS9

Whoa Black Betty

Seems appropriate that this just turned up.

already a bluesky classic, only 15hrs old

Holy fuck, browsing youtube when not logged in is absolutely dire. So much AI crap.

This is so true... wish it was funny.

manager: you make that allergy warning sign for the counter? employee: sure did boss, real fuckin ominous just like you asked manager: what

Well played IKEA, well played 🤣🩴 (50th Aussie anniversary giveaway) www.ikea.com/au/en/newsro...

I wish this were more obvious, but here goes: If someone tells you they’re having a panic attack, you don’t need to ask them “why” or “what about”. It is not helpful and a lot of us just get them bc of a chemical imbalance. There may not be a specific reason and also it’s none of your business

🤣

I hate seeing AI art and photos. I hate being offered “help” on every software/app I use. I hate knowing AI is using water the planet doesn’t even have.

Almost everything I write begins with me having a shit idea, then looking up a bunch of stuff to confirm/justify/disprove/invalidate it. At some point during that I'll find something that inspires an actually good idea. And then I keep doing that cycle until it's a great idea.

Contractors should be legally entitled to charge interest on unpaid bills.

Supporting Israel and their blatant War Crimes is a disgusting stain on the West. Nobody should be doing it.

Maybe LLMs would be more useful if they provided actual uncertainty estimates on their textual predictions, rather than just a random sample from their model that misled users into thinking they had a chain of thought.

America is one of those countries where if you host a global sporting event, inclusive messages have to be censored to so as not to anger the central government. In this case the message is “racism is bad” www.nytimes.com/athletic/643...

FYI everyone consequence.net/2025/06/devo...

although it is quite impressive they did as well as they did it must be difficult to hold a golf club when youve got blood all over your hands

typical Sydney, always two years behind the hottest Melbourne trends

Billionaires own almost the entire Media so Journalism doesn't exist. Because the most powerful people do almost all the bad things. But they will NEVER tell on themselves. So we just get boring racist lies.

This is MENTAL

There's a thread on AskReddit asking, "People who have had to drain their life’s savings on a single event, what happened?" 99% of the answers are depressing American stories about medical bills, 1% is an Australian who found a wombat burrowing under their house.

The owner of Twitter sends out 100 right wing propaganda tweets every single day and the algorithm is set up so that every single person on Twitter has to see every single one of these tweets. Now here’s another piece about Blue Sky’s ideological diversity problem.

Footage captured from a passenger plane over Dubai shows Iran’s ballistic missiles being launched toward Israel.

At a time when we desperately need to bring down the temperature, the president of the United States is deliberately turning up the heat. His thirst for chaos and division is dangerous and deeply un-American.

I’m with her. It feels like we’re sleepwalking into a replay of WW2. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

What if we chose to NOT make a world where CEOs earn 52 times more than the actual workers who produce the product and still struggle to make ends meet? I know it's extreme, but I believe people shouldn't starve at the same time others are buying a second yacht? Sorry for being a radical lefty.

Every time I post about the astronomical numbers (many, many billions) of wildlife annually killed by cats, someone replies with "MY cat doesn't do that". The evidence is crystal clear: many cats are exterminators, and the ONLY way to be sure yours isn't is by keeping it indoors, or not at all.

It is really really sinking in for me the degree to which LLMs are the ultimate expression of right wing anti-intellectualism. Its proponents are literally mocking the idea that anyone would ever want to learn anything, know anything, develop any actual skill, or have a thought of their own.

This is fucking beautiful

uh thanks for the CW I guess?

it's very funny that they used a CCR backing track for the army parade, even funnier that it's Fortunate Son. Look up the lyrics if you aren't familiar.

Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/

literally this

*sigh* See you out there, Philly

Another story in the Guardian that should have been in an American paper …. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Trans people deserve the freedom to control our bodies and lives.

Ran to Target for laundry detergent, saw about a dozen women in their 60s or thereabouts buying poster board and markers. I would have assumed they were teachers getting supplies until I remembered school's out and then it clicked.
