Dear John is thought of as the dark Sullivan comedy but I’ve been watching Just Good Friends and it’s brutal. The circular hell of Penny and Vince in the TV series is bad enough but in the prequel film this is Penny smothering herself in tomato sauce in frustration at her doomed marriage.

I’m very slow to this, it’s been going for years, but this is the best music podcast. I’ve always wanted music journalism like this, something which tells the stories of the musicians but also how music is actually made. Which most writers seem to avoid. It’s a beautiful thing.
