Fellow authors, I love you, and I know it feels like we don’t have a choice, but B&N and Am*zon both scheduled sales this week to preempt Independent Bookstore Day, a hugely vital source of income for indie bookstores. Please don’t promote their sales; please promote your local indie this week.

This guy started buying VHS tapes instead of paying for a British TV licence and has uploaded about 200 threat letters he's received since 2006 for refusing to buy one. www.bbctvlicence.com Reminds me of the Pirate Bay's legal section.

Hello! In case no one told you, Harper Collins is demanding that their staff train AI with their authors' works without author consent. But guess what? They aren't the only publisher doing this. I know of at least two more!

phenomenal stuff

There's a deep sense of sadness and loneliness seeing this record shattering graph. November 17, 2023 was the first day in recorded history when the earth's surface was a whole 2°C hotter than pre-industrial times. Yet, there's barely any chatter about this staggering breach.
