I’d add that ineffectual resistance from centrism added fuel to the fire. When things get bad and the centrists say stupid shit like “well the economy is doing well, actually”… this sort of tone deafness leads to populist rage, and fascists are fantastic at exploiting populist rage.

Lithuania held a very poignant ceremony for our soldiers who died there last week. And this flaming piece of shit went to play fucking golf. I'll never understand why the military backs him. He doesn't care about them one fuckin bit. For the record, I'm an army veteran.

Once more for the people in the back: Tariffs are not a tax paid by foreign countries. Tariffs are kinda like a sales tax on stuff imported into the US. The company that brings the goods here pays the tariffs. But they aren’t gonna take the hit - they raise the prices so YOU pay the tariffs.
