I'm having a very normal day saving copies of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence so I can pull them out on a regular basis. Last week it was about pulling archived data, this week it's about founding documents.

The Council of Professional Associations on Federal Statistics, a great org, asks individuals & orgs to sign their letter requesting Congress act to restore data that has been removed & ensure a similar purge does not reoccur. #EconSky #PolicySky #sociology #PoliSky docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Updates on US Census Data as of February 5: According to the Census Bureau, all files on the public FTP server have been made publicly unavailable to comply with the President's executive orders. They say they'll work to restore the files after they are reviewed and approved.

The important thing is the idea makes it to the world, and it frees up your time, actually, for other important ideas that nobody else is working on yet.

Apply for the Opportunity and Inclusive Growth Institute's Visiting Scholar Program--a great opportunity (!) to interact with outstanding scholars who care about Inequality. Deadline January 17, 2025. www.minneapolisfed.org/institute/vi...

I feel like my RePEc author profile/list of pubs is hopelessly out-of-date and I'm not sure how to get it to reflect the 8 pubs it's missing (in real journals like SEJ!). Is there a way to suggest papers to RePEc that EconPapers and IDEAS haven't indexed? #EconSky

In a very busy weekend, I also had the opportunity to present my WP (with Alicia Plemmons and Sriparna Ghosh) on how the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact impacted physician practice growth at the Council of State Governments National Conference! #occupationallicensing #healtheconomics #EconSky

Are you working on a paper related to healthcare provider scope of practice laws? @omfleming.bsky.social and I are looking for another paper for the session we are organizing for #ASHEcon2025

I am very excited to share that my paper with Alicia Plemmons on Illinois' criminal records reforms for occupational licensing is now available in Economics Letters! #EconSky #occupationallicensing

ICYMI -- RePEc just enabled economists to associate their Bluesky account with their profile. I deleted my X account association & added Bluesky.

Hey #EconSky! The Opportunity & Inclusive Growth Institute @ the Minneapolis Fed has a VISITING SCHOLARS program. Visits feature many seminars, opportunities to talk econ, and trails for biking/skiing (depending on the season)! Learn more + apply here: www.minneapolisfed.org/institute/vi...

I finished grading, I can haz pie?

Just re-upping this #econsky: I currently have more mentors than mentees/students (can probably match another 10-11 students from LMICs who would like feedback on a research paper from a senior scholar.) Fill out the form here if interested! forms.gle/ekvvoEKBLYQM...

Hi #EconSky, Not sure if the Starter Pack party's over, but I've made an Econ Starter Pack of Starter Packs! 😄 It's a work in progress, so I may have missed some. Let me know if there's anything to add—DMs are open! Thanks for support @economista.bsky.social! docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Speaking of which, I'll be at #SEA2024 this week, and the #CSWEP Grad Student Mentoring Workshop is happening on Friday! Looking forward to seeing folks before I head out on sabbatical. #EconSky

Re-sharing my top publication of 2024 over here on Bluesky: Alicia Plemmons, Sarah Drain and I studied the effects of certificate-of-need laws on substance use disorder care and found it has significant negative effects on vulnerable populations #EconSky

Started a new starter pack for public policy researchers! Comment below with folks to add (self promo always encouraged) #econsky go.bsky.app/BF2sAEv
