The scenes in #Pittsburgh this week have been incredible, and this morning continued that trend with some absolutely amazing fog. The city looked like it was float from the West End as the buildings cast long shadows on the fog. What a fun start to the day.

So before that amazing sunrise yesterday in #Pittsburgh I had set out to capture the moon rising above PPG Place, and it could not have worked out any better. The crescent snuck right between the spires, and you can even faintly see the unlit portion of the moon as well.

Absolutely bonkers sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning. I couldn’t believe how vibrant the colors were and how they seemed to stretch to every single part of the sky. One of the best sunrises of the last year, hands down.

The moon playing peekaboo this morning in #Pittsburgh through the Andy Warhol Bridge. I've always enjoyed this composition, as the moon fits perfectly between the supports of the bridge, making for a really interesting scene.

Another view from last week at Disney, this time of Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. The area around the Millennium Falcon is amazing, especially at night, and it took a panorama to capture it all.

Got back last night from a trip to Disney with the family, and while the focus wasn’t on photography, I still snuck in a bunch of cool images, and these are some early favorites. The Partners statue and Festival of Fantasy parade always make for amazing compositions.

Didn’t really mean for take a week off from posting, but I guess I kinda did. So here’s a set of images from over the weekend, when some rain and fog moved into #Pittsburgh creating some beautifully moody scenes.

A passing bus and the YMCA sign reflect in a puddle on the North Side of #Pittsburgh this morning, making for a moody scene as fog and rain hung around the city. It was a fun morning to NOT focus on a colorful sunrise...somethings I just really enjoy these moody mornings.

I've shot the bridges in #Pittsburgh in black and gold a thousand times, and I'm gonna do it ten thousand more, but this one is up there as a favorite. On Monday morning the rivers were like mirrors, and I probably coulda flipped this image without anyone knowing the difference.

I've really been having a lot of fun shooting film this winter in #Pittsburgh. Just sent in 4 more rolls today, but these are some from my last batch that I love. There's just something about it...if I could shooting exclusively film, with the exception of sports and the moon, I absolutely would.

These #Pittsburgh sunrises lately...my goodness. They just don't stop. This morning's was even better than yesterday's, with the sky on FIRE just before the sun came up. The West End Bridge was the perfect place to capture it from as well.

What a sunrise in #Pittsburgh today. I feel like it’s just been one after the other lately. This morning I headed to the North Shore and found some pockets of calm water protected by the remaining ice, and it made for the perfect spot for a panorama of the cotton candy sky.

A black and gold scene from over weekend in #Pittsburgh just as the sun came out after a cloudy morning. The snow covered rivers were crazy to see, almost like there wasn’t a river there at all.

Though it wasn’t as crazy as the sunrise over the weekend, sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning was surprisingly vibrant. Capturing skies like this reflecting in the frozen rivers is one of my favorite things about winter.

A beautiful sunrise from a few days ago on the Duquesne Incline in #Pittsburgh, with the Allegheny and most of the Monongahela River covered in snow and ice. One of the more unique winter images I’ve shot this year, as both rivers rarely look like this at the same time.

Just an amazing sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning, with vibrant color spreading the entire way across the horizon. I love capturing fiery skies like this reflecting in the frozen rivers, and today might be my favorite I've ever shot.

Those frozen rivers of #Pittsburgh have created some magical scenes over the last few days, especially at sunrise. Yesterday the temperature was -9º when I got out of my car to capture these fews, and I love how the barge paths in the ice mimic our three rivers.

My goodness was it cold in #Pittsburgh this morning, and though I enjoy this weather, -7º even had me running for the car. Still, it was worth bouncing around the city for nearly three hours, capturing the frozen rivers and then afterwards a beautiful sunrise. So many images to come.

One of the spots that has been on my list to capture as part of my #Pittsburgh Snowglobe Series is the South Side, and on Sunday I was finally able to. I captured nearly two dozen different scenes, but these are some of my favorites, especially Jack’s.

This morning the bridges of #Pittsburgh were lit up red and green for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and once the snow moved through the moon came out as well which made for some beautiful scenes. I spent most of my time not he North Shore, and these are some of my favorites.

A few wintry images that don't include the #Pittsburgh skyline from last week. I headed up to Troy Hill to capture images of Lawrenceville and Polish Hill after the snowfall, and similarly to the South Side Slopes I love the look of the homes stacked on top of each other on the hillside.

I didn't have much luck with trains in the fall, but on my first try yesterday I was able to capture one on the North Side of #Pittsburgh. The snow had just stopped, leaving the trees with a fresh coat and framing the tracks perfectly.

I've been trying to capture a snowglobe view of this perspective of the Duquesne Incline in #Pittsburgh for a few years (I already have a regular winter version) and a few days ago I was finally able to. The red car really stands out against the falling snow.

It's a cold one in #Pittsburgh this morning, and the view from under the Andy Warhol Bridge reminded me of the 'Exile or death' scene from The Dark Knight Rises. This panorama stretches from the Rachel Carson Bridge (left) to the Clemente (right) with the Warhol Bridge overhead.

Something a little different today. Over the weekend we took a little trip to northwestern Ohio and one of the stops I made was Marblehead Lighthouse. There was some heavy snow the night before and it turned the entire park into a painting.

Got some film back over the weekend from #Pittsburgh during the snow last week, and my goodness does Portra 400 and winter go together. These views of the Duquesne Incline are some of my favorite I've ever shot on film.

A couple more views from Friday morning in #Pittsburgh during that beautiful sunrise over the frozen rivers. In the first image I was able to frame PPG Place with icicles on the North Shore, and the second features the sun shining through the Warhol Bridge.

What a morning in #Pittsburgh. Icy rivers. A beautiful sunrise. Fog around the city. I spent nearly four hours downtown this morning and have so many new images to share, but we'll start with one of that aforementioned sunrise. Love when vibrant colors reflect on the frozen rivers.

A couple views from the Duquesne Incline in #Pittsburgh yesterday morning as the heaviest of the snow was moving through the city. The second image looks like a scene straight out of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.

This morning was by far the best snow of the week in #Pittsburgh. Just after sunrise a heavy band of snow came through the city and it created some magical scenes from pretty much everywhere. I was on the West End when it started and just before the city disappeared I was able to capture this view.

More views from yesterday's snow in #Pittsburgh, this time some snowglobes of the Strip District. I wish that I would have been capturing this area more almost 20 years ago when I started photography, but I guess that I can make up for lost time now.

I think we got more snow in the South Hills than in downtown #Pittsburgh this morning, but it was still a lot of fun running around capturing new snowglobe images. I'll a ton to share, but we'll start out with the North Shore, where I combined two exposures, one for the snow and one for the trees.

Snowy neighborhoods in #pittsburgh are some of my favorite subjects in the winter, and Frick Park and the North Side are near the top of that list. On Friday I was able to find this amazing reflection on Reynolds Street before heading over to Manchester for a snowy view of Sheffield Street.

I've been working on adding some new locations to my #Pittsburgh Snowglobe Series, and I'm glad that I was able to capture the Carnegie Science Center before the name changes this year. And of course, a giant ketchup bottle in the snow on the Heinz History Center...just so Pittsburgh.

What a morning in #Pittsburgh. The city was really out there looking like a winter wonderland, and it was so much fun to capture. I’ll have images from all over the city to share, but we’ll start with a classic from the Duquesne Incline.

Aside from some snowglobes last night in #Pittsburgh, I also worked on some double exposures. This view of the Clemente Bridge was shot entire in camera, and the only edit I did was the selective color. Using my Fuji X100VI, I shot a normal view of the bridge, then flipped my camera upside down.

It was a snowglobe kinda night in #Pittsburgh this evening, and I was down on the North Shore to capture it. The bridges are back to their traditional gold instead of the light show that played for the last month, and they looked beautiful beneath the falling snow.

Ending the year right in #Pittsburgh this morning. What a sunrise it was over the Steel City, with the clouds catching that early morning light from one side of the city to the next. It was an amazing scene from the West End Overlook, and a great way to bookend the year.

I think what I love most about capturing snowy days in #Pittsburgh is how it transforms the landscapes into real-time paintings, and none more so than the South Side Slopes. Looks like a view that could have been captured 50 years ago; such a cool perspective.

Another morning in #Pittsburgh, another day of calm rivers. I couldn't believe how still the Ohio was today, and while it may be raining now, this was the scene just before sunrise. Amazing to see such clear reflections of the vibrant colors.

We've been fortunate lately that the rivers in #Pittsburgh have been SO still, and this morning was no exception. It looked like the city was floating with the thin layer of fog in the middle from the North Shore.

My goodness what a sunrise in #Pittsburgh today. The sky was absolutely on fire from one side of the city to the other, and the West End Bridge was the perfect place to watch it from. So many to share from today, but this one is definitely a favorite. Worth dragging myself into the city for!

Merry Christmas everyone. Last night after my family went to bed I headed into #Pittsburgh to capture some serene scenes of the city, including this one from the West End Bridge. It was awesome to see the buildings lit up in festive colors.

This morning holiday colors lit up the #Pittsburgh skyline from the North Shore, and the Allegheny was incredibly calm allowing for some amazing reflections. I'm sure gonna miss that light show on the Sister Bridges next week, as it ends at the end of this year. Merry Christmas Eve!

Another snowy view of the incline from that amazing storm on Friday morning in #Pittsburgh, this time from across the river. The snow had stopped minutes before, leaving an almost clear view of the incline as the surrounding branches were completely covered.

I knew that there was snow in the forecast for #Pittsburgh today, but I didn't expect it to look like THIS. For a little over an hour the snow really came down before tapering off, and the view from the Duquesne Incline was perfect...even if you couldn't see the city.

It's a dreary day in #Pittsburgh today, so how about a couple colorful views from yesterday's amazing sunrise on the North Shore. It was one of those sunrises that you could see coming from a mile away, and when the color finally popped it was incredible to capture.

A few years ago I captured the moon rising on the Christmas tree at the Point in #Pittsburgh (left picture) and while I prefer that tree over the new one on the right, last night I couldn't pass up a chance to recreate the scene. While the tree is a little less traditional, it made for a fun night.

Over a three day span from December 16-18 in 2020, #Pittsburgh received one of the most picturesque snowfalls I’ve ever captured. I spent over 20 hours in the city over that time to capture as many views as I could, and boy was it fun.
