Here's my financial report for April. A loss of about $187 on $466 in revenue, but all in service to future income, so not bad. A unique and sizable bump in audiobook sales too. #indieauthors davedobsonbooks.com/my-indie-aut...

Unusual but very welcome book news: I have sold 29 audiobooks of Daros in the last two days connected to the free ebook promo I ran with BookBub. This is the first time I've had audiobook sales spike in response to a a giveaway. I usually sell 3-8 audiobooks a month.

Today (Sunday May 4) is your last day to get a free copy of Daros! www.amazon.com/Daros-Dave-D...

Do yourself a favour, this is FREE on Kindle right now. @davedobson.bsky.social gives good SciFi, that's all you need to know 💙📚🪐

My sci-fi book Daros is available for free as an ebook until May 4. Grab a copy today! Brecca Vereen, smuggler's daughter, drops from her wounded ship to a war-torn planet while a rebel infiltrator tries to derail an alien invasion. Daros was a SPSFC #1 semifinalist!

Łukasz at Fantasy Book Critic takes on The Glorious and Epic Tale of Lady Isovar! "It’s silly. It’s heartfelt. It’s occasionally bloody. And I very much enjoyed the ride. I’d follow these two into battle." fantasybookcritic.blogspot.com/2025/04/book...

A big #BBNYA2025 welcome to The Glorious and Epic Tale of Lady Isovar by Dave Dobson Welcome aboard and best of luck!!

OK, women - a plot-detail gender realism question: Suppose you were the kind of woman who carried a keepsake pocketknife with you everywhere, and it had little scissors. Would you: (1) use it to trim an annoying hangnail on a regular basis, or (2) have some better tool to handle that with you?

Review: Flames Over Frosthelm by @davedobson.bsky.social "His humor and natural way of telling a story is something that will always bring me back to his novels. A fantasy mystery that lived up to that description. " Check out Jord's full review at the 🔗 below www.sffinsiders.com/blog/review-...

Great new review for Flames Over Frosthelm from Jord at SFF Insiders! www.sffinsiders.com/blog/review-...

My book, Flames Over Frosthelm, is part of a massive indie book sale for the next few days. Many of the books (including mine) are free, and there's a great searchable database to find books you want. Go have a look - great stuff there. indiebook.sale

Hey, @elaine4nc.bsky.social - I'm happy to have submitted my annual LLC filing, but you've sent me 30 copies of it in the seven and a half hours since I did, about one every 15 minutes, and they're still coming. Any chance you can, you know, stop? I've got quite enough copies now.

Here's my March indie author business report. A month of almost pure profit, thanks to some previous investments. Still wish I could find more effective advertising pathways. davedobsonbooks.com/my-indie-aut... #indieauthor #WritingCommunity

Really enjoying my run as hitman Todd in Unnecessary Farce at The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem. Runs through next weekend!

The cool thing about fantasy is that you can imagine great and wonderful things.

So, Meta and other companies have used pirated copies of my books to train their shitty AI. None of these books were available legitimately online. They're using stolen copies. A company worth $140 billion robbing authors? This is bullshit.

There are a lot of little victories as a writer, like when you add "buttmunch" to the spellcheck library.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Ariana! Zapp and Gaston are great parallels here.

Sounds like I need to do a fifth one... 🙂
