It sounds like they are now indicating that money given to only to people registering as Republicans, as a reward for being such; by selection not random... ...so fraud and vote buying, ja? And now likely a cover up in process to boot.

It sure seems that he's totally spent and possibly only in it to squash his legal trouble. Does he really want to be president for 4 years? Is he healthy enough to be?
comment in response to post
If he gets elected, geez; does he even serve a year of his term? It boggles the mind that we'd get President Vance and then a Vance re-election campaign.

If I was a trump booster/whale bettor, only interested in boosting his win probability, but not actually willing to risk anything, I could place a massive bet way ahead of the election and then just cancel it out with a balancing bet just before the election?

And yet here we are.. the most comically inept, obviously corrupt campaign by a shambling, non-coherent candidate is good enough for coin toss election.

Isn't that how The Guardian runs; I'd be curious to see how competitive their pay is relative to other UK and US based papers of a similar circulation

I have a contemporary artist/maker who moved to SF from Arizona, with talent and enthusiasm... Got a job at Madame Tussauds, then jumped to Exporatorium, then Pixar. There are paths to interesting work still.

Would it be possible to purchase a high resolution image file of this, to create a single quality print? I have a Daisy in the family, a young woman who would swoon to have this.

Just like her feminism... something she received through privledge (I mean, ahem, biology), then coasting on the work of others... then pulling the ladder.

Related but not quite related... That was a bombing, but I dont think it was proceeded by a called in threat. I hope it doesn't seem pedantic to point it out. Use of bomb threats is criminal and the intention is terrorist; but wondering what the actual number of real bombs tied to threats is.

Performative religious conversion... seems performative. It's schticks all the way down.

When was the last time there was a called in bomb threat in the USA, And a bombing actually occurred?

There's a lot here... with the money involved, without controls/oversight; caused the expected shit show of bad actors profiting by exploiting the poor. On top of this, extreme nationalistic governments came to power in the countries with lots of orphans... And they stopped it, for the poor optics

If you're an English speaker, squint pretend you're reading a 5 year olds first attempts at writing, phonetically and you understand half of it. In conversation, just say "English, dood"
comment in response to post
Yeah, read the first maybe hundred pages of his book and noted that he was able to understand he was severely traumatized/damaged growing up, was a shite human being for a longwhile and still obviously proud of it all and happy to profit from that shite past. Without much actual growth.

I was lol for, oh some back to school weirdness from a conservative town paper... Nope... NYT.

Was using email to get text editions of Wired in '92... ...and got a T1 line at my work office in '94. Immediately used it to download dirty fanfic afterhours.

You needed an ISP in your area, so that dialup calls were local, unmetered. I used at least 4 of those.

It's weird that it became their only commercial hit, as it's essentially a novelty song (and kind of lame). I was really into them, and pretty blah on that tune.
comment in response to post
At the time, nothing commerical sounded like the wild, angry, rock hook filled stuff on their Nothing Shocking album... Kind of record, where music people heard it and immediately knew everything was about to change. It really was that infuencial at that moment.
comment in response to post
Janes Addiction we're the first real punk ethos, hard rock band to breakthrough commercially; kind of setting the whole scene for the alt rock dismantling of 80's fluff rock. They were hugely infuencial, you can trace lines from them to grunge's world takeover, Nirvana, etc.

At this point all Democratic pols and other spokespeople should just have a soundboard button on their phones with one button that plays the clip of Walz saying: “These guys are just weird,

Think I read that the explosives in the things weighed 2 grams. Not much space needed for that.

I doubt this event will actually happen... This will quietly be cancelled after they sell zero tickets and it becomes obvious no one is interested

Ah... Let me translate the actual law... If you're such a crap parent, your kid won't come out to you; the school isn't going to out them either. Yeah, I'm good with that, you wierdo ghoul.

Just get the basic Brother B&W Laser printer, and don't think about printers for another 10 years or more.

You know what's significantly slipperier than stepping on a banana peel? Stepping on a whole banana. You're going to be sliding a while longer on one of those.

Didn't read the book, not going to... Is it all just a "follow the money/politics bore me now" cynical money grab? A couple years ago, sports gambling legalized, and he decides to lean full into it, to get as much attention/bags of cash.

Better yet, do art in the garden at the the other modernist masterpiece, the old Hospital Sant Pau.... just up the avenue from Sagrada Familia.
comment in response to post
And for the obligatory pedantry: The Sagrada Familia is a temple, raised to the privilege of basilica in 2010... ...but not a cathedral, as Barcelona already has (a very boring) one in the gothic center.

I'm a pro tour guide, and yeah, there's are some other amazing churches in Spain; the Mezquita of Córdoba comes to mind as stellar. ...but the SF is absolutely unique in the world, with a conceptual depth to go with it's beauty. I'm generally quite jaded for sites, but never tire of this one.

Tip for visiting: Find out when sunset is and book your entry for an hour earlier, to catch the light coming in the stained glass. Also... if all tickets are booked out, it's still worth it to just see from the outside.

It's getting very close to done... Just the top of the main tower to go, and not much of it. I think they'll hit the 2026 date. (I can see it from balcony here).

Juvenile and cliche.... And like most DLR, the lyrics are totally throwaway... its all rock vibe. Feel like it ranks pretty low on my offensive scale. Drop Dead Legs is my ski send banger, despite lyrics are just absolute rock drivel.

When demands outstrips supply by a ridiculous amount... what's the best way to handle pricing? If resell is possible, eventually ticket prices will rise to these levels, with the profit going to scalpers instead of the original mix of those producing the show. Not defending surge $. But 🤷‍♀️?

Hmmm... Your framing leaves her pretty well documented grifting and dangerous/quack medical views out... ...yes he's a Hollywood crank, but she's been equally daft from long before he came along. Feels a bit ick to shift blame to a scary outsider, what was already there.

It's been corrected by SF's paperz that it was his arm shot. And that he walked to the approaching ambulance.

Were you born in time to experience the full glory of the gasoline scratch and sniff sticker... Not a parody, actually included briefly in kids collections. Ah, the 70s... What true freedom smelled like.

The holy shit set... Feels like a throwback to growing up with film and albums... Where you're whole childhood is condensed into 80 photos, at most. There's a reason those generations, when asked what they save in a fire respond with "the photo albums"
comment in response to post
How I do it... regular paring sessions; where I ruthlessly cull the pics taken since the last purge; down to two sets... A "significant because of content/context or interesting content" set A "holy shit amazing pic " set; of which few qualify and every one I can bring instantly to mind.

With the difficult approach and likely protective bunker, giving the thumbs up at Trump's grave is probably a par 5.

Taken friends to the Valley of the Fallen, what was once Franco's tomb (body since moved, the f*let)... ...because it's historically significant and fascinating... ...and I always spit and rub it in, where the grave was. Looking forward to all the thumbs up at Trump's grave.

Happened to a friend, came to the USA from Italy as a small child... Never applied for citizenship. Got a misdemeanor, maybe for a DUI or some such... Detained by ICE for two months, meantime lost her job, etc. I think thousands of dollars of lawyering got her released.
